Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I am getting ghost images, the clor balance is off, and the picture looks like it is collapsed in on my HDTV. I have digital cable hooked up to my set. I think it is the tv and not the cable box.

Ghost images & curved picture

ghosting is usually caused by ingress, or unwanted signal getting into the cable. check all connections and make sure they are tight. if this doesnt help, contact your cable provider as the ingress may be coming in on the outside. i have ran into a few models of this tv that go bad and also causes this type of problem, so be prepared.

The picture goes in and out it pause for a then show picture

You didn't say if you were on cable or air? This problem usually occurs with the over the air signal not being strong enough for the digital tuner to stay locked in and that's the symptoms you get. Older sets just had a snowy picture, ghosting..ect. Digital sets are not so forgiving. If your on cable, have your cable company come out and check the signal level, if it's ok then I would have it looked at be a qualified service company.

Ghosting problems with a Samsung-LN32B360

I think your cable box is old version together with weak signal caused this problem. I guess you are using coaxial cable hooked up to the TV at TV cable input jack.
At the TV there are some better quality inputs which are real digital transmission (audio and video) HDMI and components (digital video and analog audio).
The most simple and best quality is HDMI provided the box has HDMI output.
Secondly is component inputs. There are 5 cable trends in which 3 of them (red, blue, green) for video and the rest 2 are for audio (red , white). The cable box should have same color accordingly as ouput. Please note that the color must be matched otherwise you will see the screen has one color only.
Playing a DVD player to see picture good or not. If picture is good, TV has no problem at all.

check the cables from your receiver or cable box. I am assuming you are using the Y, Pb,Pr component hook up. check the red wire, (Pr), as it may be disconected or bad.

Ghosts on my tv

if you can, try hooking up the tv to a different cable line in the house or bring a different tv into the room where the bad picture is [ you may have a bad connection or wire ] if this doesn't help, try rabbit ear antennas just to get a picture. if you still have ghosts on your tv, the problem is with your tv.if the picture is fine, there maybe a problem with your cable service.
hope this helps
