Yes, Check where strap or chain is mounted to winch. It could be loose or have dirt or oil on it something to make it slip.On mine there's a brass piece that raps around the shaft, It got lose and dirty so I cleaned and tightened it. If you pull motor off winch to check gears [don't use gear] when reassembling it's too thick when it's cold. I used white spray lube. Hope it helps!

I have had the same problem more than once, and have had to replace the drum assembly, which is the part that holds your strap or chain and is attached to the winch. The teeth on it tend to wear down because it is a soft metal.

No spark after started lifting plow

Check fuses first, then go from there to ignition system.

My hydraulic lift for my 149 cub cadet will not lift when the snow plow is attached.

Try checking the fluid, it may be low. Or the seals in the cylinders may be leaking and bypassing so you can't build up pressure.

Snow Bear Winch..... Will not pick up plow at times. Motor seems strong drum will not turn,,,slips. Is there a replacement part available without buying an entire winch? Thanks

Hi there, I had the same problem, my winch has a chain to lift the plow.I put oil on the chain to keep from rusting and thats what started my troubles. So I took the mount off that holds the chain on the winch and there's a brass piece that is squeezed behind it.Cleaned and tightened it and works fine now. If you take motor off winch to check gears[ DON'T USE GREASE] when reassembling! When its cold it doesn't want to turn, just use motor oil or spray lube

Sounds like I'm pushing a snow plow? same thing happened to my dad's envoy and it was a half axle. I took my trailblazer in and they're telling me it's a wheel bearing without even lifting it. The half...

yes, the bearings can make that sound and thats more than likely the problem. you can fix it yourself and come out alot cheaper. just grab a manuel from your local parts store, and go at it.
