I just had this happen to me yesterday. I fought with my phone for about 3 hours removing the battery and trying to restart it. It would take about 5 minutes for it to finally boot and once it did the touch screen would not work. So I did a hard boot and within 5 minutes my phone was back to normal. I lost all my contacts but I just did a restore with the backup software. To do a hard boot hold down the red and green buttons on the front of the phone and push the reset button on the bottom of the phone with the stylus. The reset button is on the right side of the power/usb plug. As I said my phone was back to normal in just a few minutes.

Battery power indicator light has suddenly stopped coming on. Can I still use my laptop?

If it works, yes you can. It maybe that the battery went dead.

Try removing the battery for 10 minutes and put it back and see if the laptop powers on. If it doesn't, connect the power cord and see if it is charging. If not, then most likely battery is dead.

You can buy batteries from stores like ebay.

I have dropped my mobile HTC touch P3450 , it got switched off. After while I have put it to charge , the red indicator was on for a while. But it went off after that and i could not switch on my...

Before asking them to touch your phone inside better do this first. Remove the battery and then insert it again. Maybe pins in the battery got jammed when you dropped it. If this doesn't work, while in charge leave it for a minute or so, if the red light is on, feel the back of your phone and feel it again if the red light goes off. If it heats up then it means a circuit is shorted causing your battery to heat up. As of asking service engineers, better ask the one you personally knew or have a second opinion before proceeding to have them repair it.

  2. When the power indicator on the top of the HP iPAQ Pocket PC turns solid amber, the unit is fully charged and can be disconnected from the AC adapter (approximate time to fully charge a unit is four hours).
NOTE: The amber charge light blinks while the battery is recharging and turns solid (nonblinking) when the battery is fully charged. In the event of a low backup battery warning, charge the unit immediately before removing the main battery to avoid data loss. To view the amount of charge left in the backup battery, tap Start, Settings, the System tab, and Power.
Charging with the universal desktop cradle and AC adapter Use the universal desktop cradle to charge the HP iPAQ Pocket PC, or synchronize the HP iPAQ Pocket PC with a computer.

HTC Touch HD restart problem

Check the battery connection, if the battery is loose/moves around when you touch it with your finger, try putting a piece of paper on top, or the side, or which ever way it moves. So the battery will still touch the battery contacts. If this isn't the case, try doing a hard reset. Go to start>settings>system>clear storage. (It's like this in my htc diamond, not sure about the touch HD, but should be same) which will erase all data/contacts. Make sure you sync your contacts to your pc to save them!

MDA problems

Your battery is very very low. The red light is indicating an almost dead battery. In fact, you may have a battery that is too low to charge. Or you may have dead cells in the battery that require you to purchase a replacement. Try my guide to manual battery charging. I have it listed in all of the HTC Wizard (which is actually what type of phone you own) sections.
