You cannot do this with the camera itself. However, you can use a card reader to connect the memory card to your computer and use a program to piece together the files, whose data are still present on the card (providing you stopped taking photos, of course).

The best program to use is called PhotoRec and you can find it here. It's free, released under the GNU licence.

Save any photos you recover to your computer... not to the card itself.

I deleted my pictures by accident on my sony digital camera and i was wondering if i can get them back?

Take no more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones:

Is it possible to retrieve deleted pictures from Sony Camera/Dell Inspiron 530?

Photos can be retrieved from both HDD and camera memory card. To increase chances for successful recovery do it asap without saving or installing anything on PC or taking new photos. You need to install retrieving program (there are many on the web, some of them free). When you launch program, it can take hours till all lost files on HDD are detected. It takes much less time for a memory card on camera. After that you can pick the ones you'd like to be restored.
