I am trying to convert a used Jenn Air 3601P from LP to NG - and after talking with a Jenn Air Rep- have determined that several orifices must be changed. Two of them are discontinued! I am trying to locate part number 23 and 24 - (Based on diagrams) Hood, Orifice (Nat) and Hood, Simmer Orifice (Nat) - I wondered if anyone these parts? Will buy from you!

Conversion is usually accomplished by flipping the regulator cap around. Nat side is hollow and LP is solid to hold the regulator open. The oven orifices are adjustable and the surface burnres can be either adjustable or have LP replacements.

SOURCE: We were told today that

You are being told the truth. They make 2 versions of Model PRG3010. One is Natural Gas and the other is LP. It had to be done at the factory.

How to Convert to NG

You have to contact the manufacturers rep in the community to verify that the particular model of Dayton heater has the capability of NG to LP conversion. If it is, the natural gas kit will include a new set of brass 'spuds'...typically referred to as 'orifices'....for the main burners. The size of the hole will be considerably larger because NG contains less btu per cubic foot than LP gas.

There will be a replacement pilot orifice for the pilot assembly. Removed and installed usually a 1/2" and 7/16" wrench. This orifice will also have a larger diameter opening.

There should be a regulator to match the 100% redundant gas valve that is in your heater. Note though, that there may be several regulators in the kit to match any one of several brand gas valves that could've been installed on your heater....Robt Shaw, White Rodgers, Honeywell. They will NOT interchange with one another. Follow the directions closely to ensure installation is done correctly...you are working with a volitile, explosive gas !!!!

There may or may not be a set of air shutters to fit over the ends of the burners for primary air adjustment. Natural gas may require a bit of air adjustment to get the proper flame.

Thoroughly leak test everything when done, then leak test again.
If you feel you are in over your head, you probably are so contact a reliable service organization to do it instead. But at least you now have an idea of what is involved.

call me. converting a barbecue is simple; the kind of job a tech will get while still in training. The LP hole is smaller than the NG becuse of mass and air-mixture in NG so the orifices have to be plugged and re-drilled or replaced with new LP orifices.

I am trying to convert a Jenn-air model # PRD3630NP from LP to NG I assume this model is convertable becouse it has a convertable reg on it. Do thay make a kit to do this or is it just a matter of ins

Jenn Air use to make a kit that had the proper orifices for the burners and the valves. The regulator is adjustable for the conversion by simply reversing the main screw. It was intended to be convertible. However, since the model is discontinued, you can no longer purchase the kit (or the backsplash). Apparently Jenn Air believe that when they stop making a product, no one will ever need a part for it again (cough, cough).
Good luck trying to track down a kit. I've tried everywhere in the country and a few shops in Canada. I have a gas appliance expert who thinks he can accomplish the conversion by getting a few of the parts from the LP model and then modifying the rest. The orifices are basically the same, only the LP diameters are different. Theoretically, the ports could be filled and redrilled, but the hardware store was fresh out of 1.07mm bits, so I'll pass on trying this on my own.
If anyone has a LP model they want to convert to natural gas, I'll gladly swap parts.

Need to convert from lp to ng on a kenmore 362.7556191

conversion should be done by a qualified tech. you need ng orifices to replace the top lp orifices on top burners, you need to turn top of regulator over to ng, this is located behind bottom door and you need to adjust your orifices in your oven burner back up, should be screwed complerely down now and same for broiler also air adjustment may be needed. do not recommend you try this yourself

Converting a range from LP to Natural gas

Yes, it is possible.

You have to get the right orifice's for Natural gas. LP gas orifice has twice the size hole as compared to Natural Gas. Using it without the right orifice will put out way too much gas, and you will burn everything, as well as it will be a fire hazard.

Your local gas company or propane company should be able to get you the right orifice
