Switch off the stereo so that the date and time show on dash. Press and hold the volume button and the AS button together for about 5 seconds. It should now ask you to input the code. Do this by using the numbers 1 2 3 & 4 on the stereo. When the code is entered, press and hold the AS button on its own and wallah, your cd player is up and running

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

VAUXHALL RADIO CDR 2005-VDO. DO NOT KNOW THE MAKE

The CDR2005 is made by SIEMENS/VDO and unfortunately the code cannot be calculated using any program (from Ebay and elsewhere) as it has to be looked up on the original Vauxhall database which is only available at a main Vauxhall Dealer

The alternative is to take it into a Radio Decoding Service who will open it up and wire it into a laptop to read the memory chip (EEPROM) using special dump reading sofware.

Sorry

Stereo code for vauxhall astra cdr500

Unfortunately the majority of SIEMENS/VDO codes
(including your CDR2005) will NOT be available for free (or cheap) from anywhere on the Internet as access is required to the original factory database…which is not commercially available..

Try your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop (who are normally the cheapest option) who will connect it to a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

It should be in the cars service wallet in the glove box on a credit card sized bit of paper, otherwise it's £10-£20 from vauxhall.

Do you knw what make of radio goes into my mk4 04 astra elegence cdr500. siemens or delco?

DELCO is the old name (and version) of the SIEMENS/VDO so the model number CDR500 is the same.
They should be interchangeable

Safe on my cdr500 radio cd player

To reset it from SAFE , leave it SWITCHED ON....UNDISTURBED until it automatically resets itself.

This may take up to 24 hours as the waiting time doubles after each wrong code.......however it is only normally an hour or two
