i own a canon powershot A460 and it used to let me upload photos to my camputer but latley everytime i try to do it i get a message that the scanner or camera can not be found please make sure it is plugged in and turned on when it is how can this be fixed?

Make sure the dial is turned to the box with the little green arrow in it AND the camera is on. Plug the camera into your computer and then go to My Computer and see if it's showing up. If not, you have a bad connection. Try jiggling the wires a bit and if that doesn't help I would suggest a new wire.
