Try connecting camera to computer.
Open My Computer and see if camera shows
If camera does not show then computer is not recognizing the connection, try different port o different cord, or different computer.

If camera icon shows, then right click on icon and select Open.
Navigate to images.
Drag and drop images into a folder.

While icon is still active.
Right click icon, select properties, or select 'open-with', and rummage around to see if there are options telling XP what to do when camera is connected.

Nikon coolix li8 lcd screen is showing a blurry screen with verticle lines.

Vertical lines are from bad contacts (some of the signals are missing), ether ribbon connector is oxidized or the connector itself damaged. Sometimes the screen connection with the ribbon dries out with time and the damage is permanent. Solution can be a new screen, or main board. The screen may have also a tiny invisible crack on the edge, then your solution is a working screen. Buy an as is camera from ebay for the screen

Unexplained Indicator Light Protax Dc500t

It means the camera is using a slow shutter speed and may blur.

You might have the camera set to an inappropriate 'scene' mode. If you are using 'landscape' or 'snow' for an indoor or night shot for example, the camera will select a slow shutter speed which will increase the chance of blur - hence the warning.

If you keep the selector switch all the way to the left (auto mode) you should be fine in most situations. Only use the 'scene' modes for specific purposes.

Protax DC500T Digital Camera (New)

Try replacing the SD card first..sometimes that can be a culprit.
If that does not resolve the issue, try tapping a corner of the camera on the palm of your hand a couple of times. (I hear swearing while doing this helps..LOL)
If neither of them works, then yu either have a faulty CCD sensor, or faulty connector ribbons to the LCD display. Since you said you just got the camera a week ago, if the first two solutions don't work, then you best get the camera replaced under warranty.

Hope that helps! Oh yes, please do not forget to assign a fixya rating as a show of appreciation for my help. Rating here are everything, you know :)

Cheers and good luck!
