steam builds up and no coffee comes thru the filtre making this very dangerous as it almost blows when the coffe attatchment is taken off.

  • johnroma Jul 21, 2008

No steam from steamer. Suggests faulty pump (although can be heard working) or blocked pipe. Water is visable at water inlet on the base of the machine from water tank, so I guess probelm is in the body of the machine. I would gladly pay to have the item fixed but the nearest service agent is a long way distant.

Its not a filter probelm as there is no water in the coffee container after switching on. There is steam when switched on. My guess is low pump pressure although appreciate any other ideas. Does any one clean the filter held in position by a single screw thats on top of the coffee container? Thanks john

Does it come out water from the steamer?
if that is the case I would clean the filter on the machine.

Ok take the filter that you put the grinded coffe in and hold it in front of a light.

Do you see a very tiny hole in the center of the filter?

if not the filter is blocked.

What you can do to trie and clear the blockage if you dont see the small hole is to put the filter in descaling liquid, for 3 - 4 hours. and then clean it VERY CAREFUL to take away any residue of the descaling.

If this does not help you need to buy a new filter.

Water light not going out, even when full. Not able to make coffee

the water tank has a float inside, the float has a magnet. the machine senses the position of the magnet and indicates water ok/not. sometimes the magnet rusts inside the plastic casing, renders it less magnetic so it wont work. or the float is missing- fell out while you were cleaning the tank. you will need a new magnetic float to fix the problem.

Machine says "fill water tank"

look at the magnet (left, closer to you side, inside the water tank). It might be stuck. try bumping it slightly or insert a toothpick in the hole and slightly move it up-down. It might help.

Doesn't drip through. Don't know where the coffee water went to?

When setting up a new machine, it requires 2 full decanters of water to be poured into the machine. After you have done this, then you plug the machine in and turn on the vacation switch on the side of the machine. After 15 min, then you will pour in 4-10 cups of water and it will force out the hot water from the tank in the back and brew the coffee. If this doesn't correct the problem, then please call customer service with the model and date code.

Fill Water Tank But Water Tank is Full

Check the little black rectangular box which is in a plastic channel at the back. To work properly, the rectangular box, with the narrower end facing downwards, needs to be floating at the top of that channel. Apparently it's a magnet which signals the circuitry that the water tank is full. Make sure it's floating to the cap of the channel. If not, you can get a replacement one from Gaggia.

Senseo will not heat water

I had the same problem of the water not heating!

After unplugging the machine and moving the water reservoir out of the way, I popped the cover off the back of the unit (NOTE: first, remove the small gray piece at the top by pulling it out, then work on the rest of the cover). One of several connections inside had come loose. I'm not sure what the technical name of the connectors is, but they are basically like a letter and an envelope. There were four of them, two covered in plastic sleeves and two open to the elements (water). The one in question had gotten rusty and come loose. I squeezed the "envelope" just a little with some pliers, applied some electrical tape over the rusted area, and made sure the connection was secure before putting the machine back together.

Works like a charm! Good luck.

I Have a Krups Espresseria automatic coffee machine & my problem is the water indicator in the water tank does not rise when the water tank is full so the machines keeps telling me to take the water...

Inside the water tank there is a magnetic float which is causing the problem. This float is moving always on the top of the water tank as you fill it with water and in reverse as the water level goes down then the float is moving down to bottom also. So as the magnetic float is moving up and down is giving the signal for the water level if it is full or empty.
So possibly now the float is stuck in the bottom and even if you have refill the tank this is still on the bottom of the tank. This can happen from many reasons. First could be that the plastic column that the float is moving is full of scale and it can not move up and down freely any more so you can clean it from scale by decaling it and even clean it with a wire brush.
A second possibility could be that float have a tiny hole and some water enter in the float and this make it to stay on the bottom of the tank. You can visually inspect it and if possible you can dry out the water and weld with a super glue the hole if possible, if it can not be fixed then you need a new float.
If you wand to fix it temporary until you find a new float you can a plastic clip or similar to secure it always on the top however you when the tank is empty it doesn't register so you would really have to keep an eye on the water level to avoid any other problems with the machine.
Good luck

Water tank level indicator sinks to the bottom when water tank is full.

Hi,

I think the float is up and down, try to take it out and turn it.

Look at the float in the other tank to see if it is same position, the rounded side should be down.

Let me know if you get it to work.

Best regards
/Mirran
