Take a paper clip and unravel it. Look for a tiny pinhole on the DVD door. Push the paper clip in it and the door will open.

Why is my screan not a normal size?it is half the screan

I suggest to see what kinda resolution you selected for it ..if you selected a wrong one ..this can be happening ...another action is to reinstall the video driver and see if it makes the same ..If this continues and it is not from the driver or resolution ..it means you have a defective screen or defective video card..
to see which one is defective ..just hook a second monitor in the vga port ..and try to enable it ..If it shows a full screen and works ok ..than to blame is the display .and the card is ok ..
have a nice day and please rate my answer ..

i have a compaq nc4000 it cannot configure wont opean ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That, in all of my knowledge of many languages, makes no sense to me. Are you saying that the laptop itself will not open? Are you saying the operating system will not let you log in? Are you saying that nothing shows up on the screen at all? Are you saying it won't let you into the BIOS? Are you saying that you can't access a certain feature, or program? Are you saying you can't get into the internet? C'mon people, if you want help, think about how your problem sounds before you hit submit...could you HONESTLY provide someone with an answer if they came to you with a question like that?!?

Cd/Dvd Drive

You need to read on the drive and see exactly what type of drive it is. A DVD-ROM drive is read only and will NOT burn DVD's. The drive needs to read DVD-RW, in order to burn DVD's.
