I think , when you bought your cam there must be a cable(usb cable) used for connecting your didgital cam with pc. if you are not having that cable then it won't be possible to connect or transfer your pics.

How to transfer photos from camera to desktop

You didn't give the make and model of your camera so this answer assumes it uses a memory card of some type.

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

How to transfer photos from CF to desktop

Hello

OK, firstly, you basically have 2 options.

Firstly you can put the CF card in a camera and transfer the data using the USB cable.

Or

You can buy yourself a CF card reader , as seen in the image below.

lock123.jpg

This is the easier and much more convenient way of performing this task. You wil be able to buy this reader at any computer or camera store for about $20.

please feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Kind regards
Andrea

How do i upload digital pix from camera to my dell dimension 4550. I have the chord attached from camera to computer - nothig is happening. Please advise.

I would first check the device manage to make sure that the camera is showing up (right click the my computer icon, left click on properties, select the second tab (in XP). Look under USB devices. Afterward you may need to install the software that should be included with your digital camera. You should then be able to transfer your pictures from your camera to your PC.

I downloaded photos from my Olympus Digital Camera to my computer. I saw them on the screen mementarily, and now they seem to be gone from the camera and the computer. How can I retreive my photos?

the photos should be somewhere on the computer where a specified folder was chosen as your default for the pictures. Once the pictures are transferred over, the default is to clear the memory.

thanks adi

Pictures on my digital camera.Cant transfer them to the computer

I'm not sure you need any software to actually view camera pictures on xp, though there are many programs made for managing and embellishing pictures once you get them loaded into your computer's memory. Please go to this link for a general exposition of xp digital camera use.
Then connect your camera to your computer, and follow these instructions to download the photos into a file somewhere. (Maybe you want to create a folder in your My Pictures folder entitled Canon photos or something like that, just to keep them straight.) If you don't get an option to open the camera wizard, you can start it manually by going
to control panel>scanners and cameras>add a camera and the wizard should find your camera plugged in and start the download process...you can browse to the folder you created to have it store your photos there, or use the default. Once they're downloaded, you can access your photos using windows explorer.
But there are also a couple of great image viewer available as freeware: I can recommend both FastStone Image Viewer available here and Irfan View (available here)
Have fun, and don't worry about that red eye!

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Where do you connect a digital camera on your computer?

Hello again,

Yes, most likely you can transfer pictures with your camera. The only that is required is that you install the camera software to your computer. What brand camera and model do you have? Do you have the cd that comes with the camera? What windows do you have? (95,98,XP, etc..)

Downloading photos

Digital cameras have often an USB cable, which you connect between your camera and USB interface at your computer. Turn on the camera and your computer recognize the camera and install it as a drive. You can then transfer your photos from camera to the computer.
