Question about Haier HDN655E Dehumidifier

1 Answer

I just purchased a new Haier 65 pint dehumidifier and inside on the bottom of the unit, it is covered in oil. Of course the unit is not functioning (it runs but is not removing any water).

Similar issue, but dehumidifier is a year old. It was working fine, but now runs constantly, does not collect water and oil is leaking from the drain hole. Returning to merchant is not an option.

This sounds to me like a leak in the compressor housing which has allowed the oil and refrigerant to escape. I would take it straight back to the seller and request a replacement unit.
Hope this helps. D.

How many watts is a DE45EJ-L dehumidifier?

There is a review website that claims the unit draws 590 watts. The refrigerant this one uses is R-134a.

Haier 45 Pint Dehumidifier Review

A slightly larger unit is also available from Haier, the DE65EJ that uses R-410a, which is a more efficient refrigerant and allows the unit to be perhaps 20% more efficient. That larger unit is rated for 65 pints a day, and uses 710 watts. It is a bit heavier than the DE45EJ also.

Haier dehumidifier will not power on

Turn the ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 15 minutes.
Once the time has elapsed, plug the unit in and turn the unit ON.

Hopefully, during that 15 minute timeout, the electronics reset and reverted back to the original factory settings. And the unit will turn ON when you press the ON/OFF Switch.

It's also a good idea to check the outlet it's plugged into. It very well could be an issue with the outlet (no power) or the circuit breaker for that outlet has tripped.

If you continue to have a problem getting it started, contact LG Customer Support 1-800-243-0000.

Why doesn't water drain into the hose?

My dehumidifier was dumping condensate onto the floor instead of through the hose to the floor drain. The solution turned out to be making sure the unit was level. No worries since then.

Feb 05, 2013 | Haier 65-Pint Energy Star Dehumidifier...

1 Answer

I would like to know the average monthly cost of using a 65 pint dehumidifier if it runs continuously for 24 hours for about 300 days a year

To find the Annual Energy Cost, look in the Owner's Manual or other paper work that came with the unit. The Energy Star rating paper work will have that information. However, that cost does not include routine maintenance cost or any repairs that may arise from running the unit constantly for 360 days. Sounds like you'll be running it in a damp basement.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a Haier 65 pint dehumidifier. When I press the control button to lower the humidity setting, the word On comes up and I do not see numbers lowering.

Let's start from the beginning. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF. Unplug the unit for 5 minutes. Then plug the unit back end, and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Now, lower the the humidity extraction level to 40%, by using the Arrow Down Button. You will need to lower it by pushing the button for each % setting. DO NOT push and hold the Arrow Down Button.

Doing the above should solve the problem.

Filter Removal

I believe that this unit has a permanent filter, and can not be removed to clean. You should however be able to access it to clean it. Hope that helps!
