Drying cycle problems

Hi there,
I have probs with the drying cycle which used to emit steam from the grill on the front when drying. Now no steam comes out but a squeaky sort of noise like something rotating badly and then we get water coming out of the grill when we open the door to empty it. Otherwise everything works perfectly.

Take the door fascia off, and you'll see a pipe from the steam outlet to the Soap Dispenser in the door.
Take that off, and flush out the small bit of food that is blocking the tube.
Put the cleared pipe back in situ.
Run machine, you should get steam, and no water.
When it blocks again, and you get the water again, repeat unblocking process etc...

Dishes on bottom rack are drying but dishes on top rack we have to towel dry. The service man that changed out our heating element told us to use Jet Dry which we did but same results.

Hello, well i must ask if there is water pooling on the dishes and that is not drying? If so it is actually normal for the dry cycle to get all of the water dried up on the top rack. What the heating element does is heat the air in the tub to help the water evaporate quicker. first what i would do is watch to see when the wash cycle is done open the door for a couple seconds and let all of the steam out to get rid of alot of excess moisture. When I have done this it tends to help the drying significantly. Also there should be a vent on either the front or top of the door, this is to let out the excess moisture. If it is blocked by anything or the steam is not allowed to exit it will hinder drying. And one other thing to consider is if the water coming into the dishwasher is not hooked up to a hot water line then i would strongly suggest doing so to save on drying time and energy because the dishwasher has a thermometer to tell if the water is up to temp, and if the water is cold the heating element will be used to heat the water thus using more energy and slowing wash times. Good luck I hope this helps.

Water collects in door during drying cycle

The drain hose for the dryer fan is blocked. If you remove the outer door (six Screws three bottom screws down either side) you will see a hose that runs from the bottom of the fan to the top of the detergent dispenser, removed hose and clean this will resolve the problem

Is it normal to see steam coming out of the dishwasher in the drying cycle?

Yes, The colder the room its in the more steam you will see. It will look like more steam if sun light is shinning over it. Just like your clothes dryer blowing steam out side. Its just drying.

Our Maytag MDBH950AWS is only two days old and we are having the

I have one that does not vent. Was told the new one do not vent. Mine is 1 month old I have had repairman out twice. #1 Said my heater worked. #2 said he repaired my venting that was blocked. No steam in front anymore.
The problem with the dishwasher being full of moisture after the drying cycle, also letting it stand overnight after drying, STILL full of moisture! I think this is going to remain like this. After three months is it the machine adjusting to the moisture or YOU!

Does not dry all the way

I too have a similar problem. Drying light blinks, doesn't shut off, little if any steam escapes when door is open during drying cycle. Wonder if this is Ariston's Dynamic Drying? My unit is new too.

Drying problem

Hi,
As I had the same problem, I worked on my machine and found out the heater unit was not working (it is a brand new machine ! - remark : as I moved overseas, LG did not cover it with their warranty).
But back to what I did : I ran the check program (instructions can be found in the Service Manual) and verified it was sending voltage to the heater on step 36. So I checked the heater unit (in the bottom of the machine) and found it was burned or open. So I ordered a new heater assembly ($40 on eBay), replaced it myself and am completely happy with the results.
Remarks : the heater is powerful enough to heat cold water to the temperatures required (I don't have hot water in the faucet); it seems that the heater also produces heat for the drying cycle (my dishes were completely wet at the end of the cycle before, now they get completely dry). My only disappointment, mentioned by some in the forum, is that the outlet during the drying cycle is in the bottom of the door, so steam condensates into droplets on the kitchen floor. But now I get clean dishes, and this machine is amazingly silent and efficient. Good luck to you !
