Im trying to uninstall lg pc suit but everytime i try it says its still running, but i dont know how to stop it to remove it

The simplest way around this problem is to enter Safe Mode and uninstall it.

1. Restart PC
2. Press F8 until Windows Boot Menu appears.
3. Select Safe Mode
4. After Safe Mode finishes loading, press Win+R to open the Run command.
5. Type APPWIZ.CPL into the dialog box and press enter.
6. Allow Add and Remove Programs to fully load.
7. Scroll down to the LG PC Suite, select it, and then click Uninstall/Change.
8. Uninstall the program.
9. Restart computer.

If you don't want to go to the hassle of entering Safe Mode, then another option would be to open Task Manager and end any process affiliated with the LG PC Suite. Then you should be able to uninstall the program.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa.

I forgot my administrator on my computer and now i can't do anything

Try restarting your computer, and while it is booting up hold down the F8 key and you will be prompted with a black and white screen with the option to boot into safe mode. Select boot into safe mode, Once the "Safe Mode" Desktop has loaded go to your user accounts and change your administrator password. I hope this helps you. Thanks

How can i troubleshoot why my windows vista machine freeze ?

Hi,

System freezes can be caused by many different things but are more likely to be caused by the hard drive having bad sectors or the system files are corrupt.

To troubleshoot the system files and hard drive i recommend that you boot the machine up in safe mode. To do this restart the computer and repeatedly tap the F8 key. When you get to the sub menu select "Safe Mode" and press enter.

You will see a boot leader apear (white text) on screen, wait until it loads the welcome screen.

Once inside safe mode you will notice that you have no sound, internet connection, desktop background or graphics. This is because in safe mode the system only loads basic drivers so the above mentioned are dissabled allowing you to work in safe mode.

Click on the Start menu (orb) and in the search pane type cmd and hit enter. A command line window will come on-screen.
Type in that command window chkdsk /f /r and hit the enter key.

You will see information about the volume with a message that the volume cannot be locked, would you like to schedule a disk check next time the system restarts? type Y and hit enter and then type exit and hit enter.

The window will close so then restart the computer.

When the system restarts let it boot normally and now the system will check on the hard drive and check system files for you, if it finds any problems it will fix them itself.

This proceedure can take anything up to 2-3 hours to complete so please be patient.

Good luck and if there is anything else i can help you with please post back.

Regards.

Cant acess safe mode in windows xp, just cycles startup screens

Here are some steps to use MSCONFIG to force your computer into SAFE MODE
  1. Click on Start and then Run.
  2. In the text box in the Run window, type msconfig and click OK. This will open the System Configuration Utility program.
Note: Do not make changes in the System Configuration Utility other than those outlined here to avoid causing serious system issues. This utility controls a number of startup activities other than those involved with Safe Mode.
  3. Click on the BOOT.INI tab located at the top of the System Configuration Utility window.
  4. Check the checkbox next to /SAFEBOOT and click OK.
  5. You will then be prompted to either Restart, which will restart the PC immediately, or Exit Without Restart, which will close the window and allow you to restart the PC manually.
  6. After the restart, the PC will automatically boot into Windows XP Safe Mode.
Note: Windows XP will continue to boot into Safe Mode until the System Configuration Utility is configured to again boot normally.
  7. When your work in Safe Mode is complete, click on Start and then Run. Type msconfig in the text box and click OK.
This will again open the System Configuration Utility program.
  8. Choose the Normal Startup radio button and click OK.
  9. You will then be prompted to either Restart, which will restart the PC immediately, or Exit Without Restart, which will close the window and allow you to restart the PC manually.
  10. After the restart, the PC will boot into Windows XP normally and will continue to do so.

Yes, when you switch the laptop on hold down the F8 key until you see a black screen with a list of white text, one of the options will be "Safe Mode", use the arrow keys to highlight safe mode (just safe mode, not safe mode with anything) and press return. The computer will start to the welcome screen and you will see a user-name you don't normally see called "Administrator". Click on Administrator and you will find it is not password protected (in spite of the fact that the Administrator account has more access to the system than any other account!) when the administrator profile loads it will ask you if you want to continue in safe mode and you do. click start, click control panel and click on users and groups now click on your son's user account and click remove password. now click back, click on the Administrator account and click change password, the old password should be left blank and you're new Administrator password should be something at least 7 letters, numbers and special characters (!@£$%^&*) long that you can remember. Now just restart and let it start up normally, once loaded advise your son to set a password he can remember or at least write down somewhere safe.
