SOURCE: Shredder motor seems jammed

The teeth on the plastic gear that turns the massive metal gears that turn the shredder teeth is probably stripped and needs to be replaced, if you can find the part.

SOURCE: Royal 15mx only works in reverse after clearing jammed paper

try resetting the shreddar, unplugging it waiting for about 20 seconds and then plugging back in. Check to make sure there is no paper or paper clips stuck in the shreddar, make sure the unit is properly mounted on bin, the overheat light isn't on is it? if none of this helps and you have a warranty on your shreddar now would be a good time ot call them as you might have a hardware problem.

How do you removed jam paper in the schredder

1) pull what you can of the jammed paper out. Make sure the shredder is unplugged whenever trying to work on or in the unit.
2) Then liberally soak the remaining jam with shredder oil and let it sit for 15-20minutes.
3) Try to pull out what you can again. Use tweezers or pliers if available.
4) Then first start the shredder in reverse and then alternate for a few seconds between forward and reverse.
5) If it is still jammed repeat all of the steps as necessary.

Paper jam, what to do

Rotate the shredder into "Auto" and reverse to loosen any paper jam that is stopping the gears. Pull out any papers that are sticking out from the shredder feeder. If there is no progress then unplug the shredder and remove the shredder top from the bin. Turn it upside down and use tweezers to free any paper that is blocking the gear. Select the "Auto" option and feed paper into the center of the feeder tray if the shredder is only working in reverse mode. The sensor is located in the middle of the feeder tray and could be blocked by jammed paper. Use an index card to firmly unblock any paper that could be blocking the sensor.

I jammed it with too much paper

Check the Power Ensure that the shredder top is firmly placed in the shredder basket if the unit will not operate. If the top is not in place the feeder will not work and accept any paper. Make sure it is firmly plugged into the wall outlet and that the outlet is active. Rest the Shredder Let the shredder cool down if the shredder has been running continuously for a long time. It may have overheated and needs to be left in the off position for at least 30 minutes to reset. Verify the basket is empty or not too full as that will cause the shredder to deactivate. Clear Paper Jam Rotate the shredder into "Auto" and reverse to loosen any paper jam that is stopping the gears. Pull out any papers that are sticking out from the shredder feeder. If there is no progress then unplug the shredder and remove the shredder top from the bin. Turn it upside down and use tweezers to free any paper that is blocking the gear. Auto Mode Not Working Select the "Auto" option and feed paper into the center of the feeder tray if the shredder is only working in reverse mode. The sensor is located in the middle of the feeder tray and could be blocked by jammed paper. Use an index card to firmly unblock any paper that could be blocking the sensor.

Paper has wrapped around the cutting blades and is packed in tight. How do I clean this?

    • 1 Unplug the paper shredder. Empty the shreds from the collection bin. Pull as much stuck material as possible from the top and bottom of the shredder blades with pliers.
    • 2 Place the paper shredder back on the collection bin base and plug the shredder back in. Rock the shredding direction back and forth between forward and reverse. Pull on the jammed pieces as the shredder shifts between directions.
    • 3 Run the shredder in reverse continuously once the paper jam is cleared. Make two passes across the cutting blades while drizzling synthetic shredder oil. Switch the direction to forward to run continuously for one minute.
    • 4 Lower two sheets of clean paper into the shredder. The paper removes excess oil, metal fragments and debris from the cutting blades. Blast the blades with compressed air when you notice a build-up of small paper scraps that may cause a jam.

The shredder was paper jammed

Hi,

Ensure the wastebasket is empty then move power switch to the REVERSE position. This will reverse the jammed paper out of the shredder. If shredder jams again, alternate control switch slowly between REVERSE and AUTO (l) positions to attempt to move jammed paper completely through the shredder. If the shredder jams in reverse mode, move the switch to AUTO (l), depress the manual forward button located on the center of the shredder head and allow to run for five seconds. If jam does not clear, move switch to REVERSE again and allow to run for five seconds.

Repeat this process until jam is cleared. If necessary, turn off shredder and use care to grasp the paper and carefully pull out to clear jam. Once cleared, move switch to AUTO (l) to continue shredding. The jamming may be happening because the cutting cylinder needs to be oiled.

Follow instructions to oil your shredder;

To keep your shredder in top condition, the cutting blades need to be oiled every so often (for frequency, please refer to your owner's manual). We recommend using Powershred® Lubricant or a vegetable-based oil (such as corn or canola) in a non-aerosol container with an extension nozzle.

Caution: Never use flammable synthetic oil, petroleum-based, or aerosol lubricants to oil the cutting blades. Some agents may combust, causing serious injury. NEVER USE WD40.

1. Depress and hold the reverse button down.
2. Put the tip of the oil bottle in the paper entry and make one or two sweeps the length of the entry while squeezing the oil bottle.
3. Move the power switch to Auto (I) position, or depress the manual forward button (depending on model of shredder) and allow the blades to run at least three seconds.
4. Move the power switch to Reverse (R) position and allow it to run for at least three seconds.
5. Repeat steps three and four above at least three time.

Regards.

My royal paper shredder is jammed. How do I unjam the shredder?

Normally try to run it in reverse while pulling the paper back out to assist the motor. If it won't even run in reverse then you will have to take it apart to manually clear the jam.

Shredder jammed

For any jammed shredder..try the following.. pull backwards on the paper while you switch the machine into reverse. Try not to tear the paper as if there is nothing to hold onto then you can't help the motor.
If this dosn't work then you will have to take the top cover off(after unplugging of course.) and the try to force the paper backwards out of the machine by turnings the cutting blades or gears in the reverse direction.
