Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook
How can I break the bios password on my lap top
Try removing the backup battery for the bios and the main battery. The bios battery is a small little lithium battery usually located under the memory access panel. Killing the bios backup power causes it to lose its memory and go back to default, AKA No More Password. If this does not work you must find the security eeprom located somewhere on the motherboard and short pin 3 to pin 6 with a paper clip and power up. This will set the security eeprom back to manufacturing mode and once again, no more password.
In the most extreme cases the eeprom actually has to be replaced, this only occurs on very high end units. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Good luck.
Ps. you can find the location of the eeprom easy just google for your model laptops security eprom.
