LCD TV won't turn on- power light flashing

This is a very common symptom of a failure in the power supply board. The failure is caused by parts called capacitors. Here is a link to information on what needs to be replace on the power supply board to repair it. It is an easy repair, takes about 20 minutes.

Remove and check capacitors in power supply board with a multi meter. All capacitors should have +/- 20% of the uf rating. I've had a similar problem with my toshiba 35". I found a 50v 22uf cap that only read about 5 to 6uf, well below the 20% window. When I unplugged the t.v. and replugged it I could here the relay click but the t.v. would immediately shut off. After ordering and replacing the ten cent cap, NO MORE PROBLEMS!

Disconnect the power and VGA cable from the comp. and monitor and wait for 2 minutes

Press and hold down the POWER button on the monitor for 1 minutes and then connect everything directly.

It shold work if the CRT gun of the mnitor is OK otherwise u may hv 2 install drivers.

Steady red status light on NEC VT45 projector. Would not POWER ON. LAMP was replaced with a new one

the power supply on that model seem to go bad after a while. the caps aren't properly reted it's power needs. they dry up. if you are good at soldering, replace c1 on the board (big cap) with a cap that has a slightly higher voltage rating. or replace the whole power supply. you might not be able to get one from nec, but you can try www.projectordoctor.com

Mitsubishi vs-50707....after replacing cap c2po4 which fixed my warmup promblem went to cut the tails off of cap and got an arc now tv doesnt turn on any help for novice

If this cap was located on the power supply board then replace the voltage regulator and any adjacent ICs' to the cap as it sounds like they all took their fair share of the blue spark lol. Remember, discharge, discharge, discharge. Its happened to us all so dont feel too bad :-) Hope this was helpful and no matter how much stress it gives you to fix you will smile for weeks when it works and you done it!!

time for a replacement with the amount of data supllied, also see if the light indicator button comes on, if there is power, then check the video plug and card, do another video card and see if that corrects the problem.

Replacement for capacitor 120mf/200v

You can use anything from 100 to 150 uF (mf, or mfd) in over 98% of the applications. Most of these caps have a 20% tollerance in their uF value. If this cap is being used as a power supply filter cap, or a bypass cap, the value will not be critical.

As long as the voltage is greater than the required amount it is acceptable. A poplular value would be 100 uF / 250 V. I rarely see 120 uF caps in equipment.

A higher voltage cap will be physicaly larger. This can become a space issue when installing the replacement.

With the new cap, make sure that the polarity is corrent when doing the installation.

If the set runs at all, your flyback and output transistor are good. If the set shuts down after a few seconds and the sides are wavy, it usually means that the main B+ in your power supply is too high and not regulating properly. I do not know what kind of power supply that model uses, but if has an old-style STR regulator (like the STR30130) then it is probably shorted, and if the set uses a switching power supply then look for an open or leaky electrolytic cap on the primary side. If the power supply is working correctly and the set shuts down, check for an open safety cap (the large 1.6 - 2Kv cap connected to the collector of the horizontal output transistor).
