Mitsubishi wd-52525 dm board capacitor replacement

Hi Techman, I've done a little research and you appear to be the expert on this. I'm basically at the point where I have the chassis completely removed from the the set and I'm wondering how to get this dm board removed from it and which capacitors to look at. Is there an article anywhere online that will tell me exactly what to do? I've got the service manual and everything and it tells you how to remove the chassis, but not how to mess with the board. Hope you can help me man :) My e-mail is husker_shoe@hotmail.com

Good day, husker_shoe;
Good question, but I'm not THE FAMOUS "TECHMAN" but I will try to help anyway. The DM board is normanlly on the left side TV looking from the back. It has a shield around it, remove. The caps are big and black, they look the replacements(only ones on board). Here's what says about this issue:

If the LED keeps blinking with connector FC removed suspect a problem on the DM PCB (part # 934C116002). (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) On the DM
Good Luck, big IRISH. ps hope this helpful!
PCB (part # 934C116002) check C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4 (1000 UFD, 16V, 105C), if any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C). (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) On the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002) check C8F19, C8F21, C8F22, and C8F27 (16V 1000 UFD 105C), if any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C).
It is not an easy job, it will take some time but since you have it apart there is another problem that will accure so might as well do this too:
Tile or block pattern with no video or OSD. Check D8F00 and D8F01 part # 264P828010, also check C8F26 and C8F29 part # 141P148000 (1 uFD, 25 V) on the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002).
All the parts have location numbers like C8F29 that will tell you what and where these parts are.
Good luck, big IRISH. PS; I hope this helpful.

How to replace the dm in wd-52525

The DM is the second board inside the Chassis block directly underneath the FMT board. But replacement DM boards if still good are very expensive your better off replacing the 4 capacitors that fail on the DM.

Hi Jdvillanueva, I have a Mitsubishi 52525.

Hi Mark,

First of all I would like to thank you for consulting Fixya.com regarding on your problem.

Your model no. Mitsubishi WD-52525 (Chassis No. V26) is known for steady blinking Timer LED fault after pressing the power button key. Once this kind of symptoms is encountered and the unit didn't come on and stuck to this blinking death of life, it means that the DM board failed to boot up. In normal operation, timer will blink after AC is applied for 80 secs (DM board booting process) maximum before the picture and sound to come on.

You've mentioned that you had already reset the unit, unplug and plug back in to the outlet but still the symptoms persist, then this is a clear indication of DM board malfunction. It will not stop from blinking if the faulty parts didn't isoltated.

Good news! because I have a link where you can buy a repair kit for this kind of fault. Kit includes the parts that are known to be faulty, instructions that will guide you in the whole process of repair. Click it HERE. It is a V26 chassis (your chassis) DLP / DM Power repair kit.

For additional info watch some tutorial video below.

Hope I helped you.

Hi, I have a Mitsubishi WD-52525, and have the Green Light of Death. I plan on replacing the capacitors, and have the Power Chassis out of the TV. However, I am having issues extracting the DM module...

The DM is the second board in the chassis from the right side looking in the rear. The first board is the FMT. The second is the DM, third is the Signal and the one which is sideway across the front is the Power board. The Chassis metal shields have to be removed to access the boards.

You have a bad DM Board. You need to replace it. Changing the capacitors will not cure the problem. Completely replace the entire board

You will need the service manual to do this repair. I happen to have it, as this site was suppose to put in the pictures and things to explain that a lot of TV sets are still using this DM board, but they are building them differently. Just follow the directions in the service manual on how to remove the DM board and then follow the directions in the article on repairing the DM board. I will need your e-mail address to forward this service manual to you. Good Luck

WD-52725 Timer light is blinking and will not stop.

This part will cost you about 650 to 800 bucks my friend. if you have any soldering skills, and can follow directions, I posted a DM board fix. it may just be four small capacitors. Now this set that was used in the fix is not exactly like all the other Mitsubishi TV sets that still have a DM board, but if you can locate the DM board, follow the rest of the repair. if you do not know how to solder, do not take a chance, as this part is way too expensive to be experimenting around with. Get the Capcitors(there is a link there too for the capacitors)and take the DM board to a service shop, as this should not cost you a lot to have a pro do this for you. The DM board fix is located here: http://www.fixya.com/howto/h154057-mitsubishi_dm_board_repair Good luck
