I.m not sure that the ice maker is overflowing or not.
how can i make the ice maker fill with water so i can watch it while the door is open?
    Thank you
    Paul.

I think my problem is: The door to the ice dispenser does not close good and the air from outside melt the ice cubs inside the freezer and that is where the water is coming from. I do not know how to take the front off of the freezer door so I can get to the dispenser door closer part to put it together so it will close by it self. Please help me with that?
    Thanks
    Paul

The problem is most likely the water valve behind the machine. it is closing too slow and letting too much water flow into the icemaker. KENMORE REFRIGERATOR 106.57024601 - c30b276.jpg

    • are you sure that the icemaker is overflowing? or is it leaking some water from the tube going to the icemaker or the fill cup on the back of the icemaker (blue arrow)

    • another thing is that the icemaker itself may be holding the water valve open too long.

    • some icemakers have an adjustment for this.

    • if your icemaker looks like this then pull off the plastic cover (red arrows) and adjust the screw (green arrow)

    • before you go out and buy any more parts, i would suggest taking the icemaker out and inspecting all of the places that the water flows and make sure it is not leaking

one way you can tell is if the ice cubes are very large or too small.

    • very large cubes = possibly overfilling

    • very small to medium cubes = possibly leaking some water b4 it makes it to the icemaker.

What causes my ice maker to drip water?

HI,

This could be either the ice maker is old and the finish inside has depleted, the water valve is going bad or you had a jammed ice cube and now it overfilled. Many different reason this could happen. Does the ice cubes stick together with a bridge? Is the drip coming from the ice maker head unit? How is the ice in the pan its stored in, stuck together? In the pan, has the ice glaciered together? Need more information please. Thanks

Water leaking from icemaker

If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.
If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Hi, I have a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator model #596.76253702 that leaks water from the bottom every time the ice maker refills. The problem keeps getting worse since I purchased this product 2 years ago.

Ice maker water not stopping
The water inlet valve may be staying open. You can swap the wires on the dual water inlet valve and disconnect the water line at the valve which goes to the ice maker. When you try the water dispenser the water will come out there. When you stop the water dispenser, if the water at the valve doesn't stop, the valve isn't closing so you'll need to replace it. If it does stop after trying it several times then the problem is with the ice maker.

Icemaker drips after refill

Good day,
The ice maker has a switch internal, that turns the water valve in the bottom rear of the machine on for 7 seconds after it harvests a batch.
That valve must close smartly, otherwise it will cause the cavity of the ice maker to overfill, and cause it to overfill.
If it does harvest cubes, then that is your problem. Replace the water valve. It's a very common problem.

The icemaker in my freezer has a slow drip. The water then freezes in the ice bin. Why is it dripping, and how can I fix it?

Good day,
The most common reason is the ice maker is overfilling because the water valve in the bottom rear of the refrigerator leaks on the off cycle, and needs replaced.

Make sure the machine is level and the ice maker is mounted in the freezer properly to keep it level.

Also, make sure the fill pipe going into the back of the ice maker is properly positioned.

The Ice maker body could have failed but is very rare.

Outside ice despenser is dripping, no ice

water dispenser -Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

Have Amana side-by-side about 14 yrs old. The icemaker overfills ice tray by about 8oz of water? Please help!

Unless someone has made a water level adjustment there is,
Only one repair. Replace the ice maker.
If someone has made a water level adjustment you can try this.
Remove the ice maker plastic cover. Locate the water level screw adjust it to a minimum setting and try it there.
If that does not correct the problem, replace the ice maker.

Kenmore refer #70162990 ice maker leaking into storage tray

Please confirm you have given the complete model number.

If the icemaker has a bail wire to control how much ice is in the bin, there is a fill switch inside the front cover of the ice maker which allows you to increase or decrease the amount of fill.

You may also have a cracked or corroded ice mold. Check by filling the icemaker with water manually, and watching to see if it drips once the initial overfill stops dripping. This would also be indicated by the ice cubes being smaller than usual.
