I'm having major issues with my mad dog cd burner. It is the cd/dvd combo. When I burn cds with it, some times they can't be read when I try to play them in the car and other places. And, they skip like crazy. I'm using cd architect by sony and that's good software and I just don't understand why I'm having so much trouble. I'm about to invest in a duplicator and have a number of big projects planned - but a duplicator is of no use if I can't get a good master. Can anyone help?
When was this unit serviced last,
Its quite posible the lazer needs a good clean so you can buy a DVD/CD head cleaner unit and this may solve your problem,
another issue is the type of disck you are using, have you changed brand lately, this may also add to the problem too.
Next test would be a default factory settings reinstall if the above solution does not work.
If the software works well then no reason to change what you already know.
If you end up replacing the drive ,the new one will come with software and drivers too on a disk with the device.
When did you do a scan on the system last?
Might be time for a scan
