I need instructions on how to mount the nuvi 200w to my windshield

To secure the nuvi 200w to your windshield with the included suction cup mount (pictured below),

steve_con_6.jpeg

center the GPS on the clip, and tip the bottom edge on the bracket. Push the top of the GPS against the top clip until it clicks into place. Hold the bracket and GPS near the windshield where you like it best. Note where the suction cup is on the windshield in relation to the mirror, etc. Remove the GPS from the mount's clip by pushing the top tab back from the top of the GPS.

Clean the windshield (or portion that the suction cup will be stuck against) with a paper towel or newspaper and ammonia solution like Windex, etc. Clean the suction cup with the paper towel and Windex, too.

Lift the lever at the base of the mount - is shown in the picture above - if it isn't already. With the mount oriented as shown in the picture above, press the suction cup against the windshield where desired with one hand. Hold the mount firmly against the glass and use your other hand to press the lever on the base back toward the suction cup and glass. Press until it lays flat against the base / suction cup. Plug the power cord into the GPS and reinstall the GPS in the mount clips as done earlier.

To remove from the windshield, release the GPS from the mount clips, and lift the lever away from the base / suction cup. Locate the tab that is connected to the suction cup edge near the lever. Pull on the tab away from the glass to break the suction seal and remove from the windshield.

If this was helpful, please rate it 4 thumbs up. Thanks & good luck!

My Garmin Nuvi 250 w gets stuck on the screen showing a picture connecting a computer to Garmin. I have it in my car and resetting hasn't worked. any suggestions

Hello,

The nuvi is being put into mass storage mode (the mode used to transfer data back and forth to a computer). This is usually caused by using the wrong vehicle power cable.
The correct cable is Garmin part number 010-10723-06.

How do I attach my garmin to my dash mount?

The Garmin Nuvi 255w comes with a three piece dash mounting kit. A round disk smooth on one side tape on the other to affix to the dash (most dashes ar textured and the suction cup will not hold to textures) a suction cup arm with a ball end, and a bracket with a receiver for the ball. Snap the bracket and arm together, this can take a little effort. mount the disk to your dash in a place that doesn't obstruct your view of the road. then place the arm/bracket on the disk and push the lever down creating suction to hold the mount to the dash.
Another option it the beanbag dash mounts that hold the arm without sticking to your dash.

Sticking my nuvi 260W to windshield - after a few days often in sun [winter/spring Mass.] thesuction cup mount falls of to dashboard- risking damage to nuvi. advice? without having to use permanent...

Here is what I do. I clean the spot on the windshield very good with Windex or another good window cleaner. I also clean the suction cup surface while I am doing the windshield. Next I place the GPS next to the Rearview Mirror. and connect the suction cup. Then I take the power cord and use it to tie a knot around the suction cup mount and then I loop it around the Rearview mirrow twice leaving no slack between the GPS and the Mirror. Be sure to not block you view in the mirror. If the GPS come loose from the windshield it will just fall far enough for the power cable to catch it and will just be swiing there instead of falling to the dashboard or floor. This is kind of a Mickey Mouse way to do things but it works.

Garmin NUVI 660 power problem.

To charge a nuvi, use one of the following methods:
  1. Connect the nuvi to the suction cup mount and the vehicle power cable.
  2. Connect the USB cable to the nuvi and the computer. The computer will charge the nuvi as long as the computer is on. However, the unit will be in Mass Storage Mode and normal operation is not possible.
  3. Connect the AC power cable and the nuvi to a wall outlet.
Please note: All of the nuvi series will come with a suction cup mount and vehicle power cable to charge the nuvi. However, only some of the nuvi models will come with an AC power cable and/or USB cable. If they did not come with the nuvi, they would be optional cables and would be a separate purchase. Garmin only recommends using an AC power charge that is purchased from Garmin. Third party power cables may not charge the nuvi. These cables may be purchased from Garmin or Garmin's dealers.
