I put new batteries in Transmitter and never got any temp reading. The unit is less than 2 years old and is not working. Is there anything I can do?

  • Remove all batteries
  • Install new batteries in transmitter
  • Wait for transmitter to initialize and begin transmitting temperature data
  • Install known-good batteries in receiver
  • Observe outdoor temperature reading
If this doesn't work, the transmitter or receiver or both may be defective. I find in very cold weather the transmitter stops sending the temperature.

I have a set of Motorola T5720 walkie Talkies. I cannot determine if one of them is not receiving or the other is not transmitting.

One radio works properly, the other can receive. I assume there are more than two by the question. Check and then rotate you batteries, mark on the working unit battery that it is GOOD. Transmit takes a great deal more power than receiving. Batteries, even un-used only last 18-24 months typically. If no joy, then check your programming but I think that is unlikely. It really sounds like a power/battery issue.

My radio is not transmitting what could be wrong

When the batteries are reaching the end of their life or in need of charging the first thing that is likely to happen is that the unit will be weak when transmitting while receiving just fine. This is because it takes a lot more power from the batteries to transmit than to receive. Try a new set of batteries or if rechargeable then try charging the unit. With regard to regular batteries, make sure your batteries say "alkaline" on them somewhere since they will last much longer and also are more likely not to leak inside which can ruin your radio. Ignore labels on batteries that read "super heavy duty" or other such nonsense. Look for one and only one word "alkaline" on them and buy any brand you want to since cheap or expensive they are basically the same. Don't waste your money or risk your radio by using anything but alkaline batteries.

Hope this helps.

Motorola Talkabout MR will not transmit

From reading through your settings, they appear to be identical. Except, I am not certain what Vox 2 is, or B5 0. If the number 2 beside VOX is a setting, you should set it to off or zero. Otherwise, they appear like they should work. (VOX = voice activation, and when enabled will cause a radio to transmit when it hears a sound, voice, etc.)
If you are using an audio device such as an earpiece or headset, be certain you are plugging it in with the radio turned OFF.
Lack of transmit can also be a sign of a bad battery or bad battery connection. You might try swapping the batteries and see if the problem moves to the other radio.
If these are less than one year old, use the number in your user guide to contact Motorola for a possible warranty replacement.

Best regards.

Installed new reg. doorbell on first floor now wireless upstairs

when did this work last?
is the new unit on the first floor designed to work with the 2nd floor unit?transmission,

you may have to tune the 2 units to the same transmission frequency before they will work to gether, some wireless units only have a short range of transmiting distance too
have you checked the power supply to the receiver upstairs and the bell push battery on 1st floor?

they seem to be the most common solutions for this type of device
if its the age of the unit then its time to replace it

I can receive transmission in FSX but not transmit.

You need to go into the main FSX screen, choose settings, controllers and set up the button you wish to use to transmit on.

Does not receive FM signals anymore, just noise.

The T6310 is a disposable radio. Assuming the programming is correct, and matching on each of your radios, and you are using good batteries, there is nothing which can be done to correct the problem. We would however, suggest you double check your programming, and also the age of your batteries.

Sidenote: Rechargeable batteries only last 18-24 months before they begin to fail. Signs of failure can include, but are not limited to, poor transmit, intermittent transmit, white noise, squelching sounds. It takes more energy to transmit than to receive, so your transmit would be the first to go.

Won't transmit

First I would check the interference code on both radios to see if it is set the same. It is possible you have one set to zero and the other set to another number. This would cause the problem you describe. The interference eliminator is designed to block out transmissions from radios whose settings do not match it.

If all your settings are identical, and you have only 2 radios, it is not possible to tell which one has the problem. You either have one with no transmit or one with no receive. The only way to tell which you have is to get a 3rd radio involved, set to the same settings.

FR60 intermittent transmission

Hello snorker,

It could be battery / power issue. Two-way radios draw much more power when transmitting then receiving. If the batteries are weak the radio might work perfectly fine on receive and then cut-out when you depress the Push-To-Talk.

Best Regards,
Ken
