With no mention of OS or computer make / model....
Virsuss related springs to mind,or softwares conflict,
How To Fix -
Do a viruss scan and check start up softwares for conflicts also.
The more things starting up when your computer starts the slower it will run,
To stop the beast - pulling the power cord from the wall seems to do the trick, not very pleasant or convenient but effective.

Might want to concider saving your important stuff and format this macine again, breathe a new life into it again.
Let me know if this helps ,have a great day,

My et1831-05 will not turn on when I push power button

First make sure is properly plugged to the wall outlet, then if is plugged properly and doesn't turn on, then probably there is a problem with the power supply for your computer motherboard, nothing to do buy a new one. :-S

I have an Emachine W6409 Desktop, it was turned off(proper shut down) after an hour or so, pressed the on button, nothing happened, power supply was replaced, attempted to turn on and again nothing...

It sounds like you dont have the motherboard/case wiring input properly, without a specific diagram of your computer, i cant really tell you what to plug in, but your computer could have come with the correct wiring guide.

Emachines are bad for having failed power supplies and motherboards. Test your power supply, watch this video.

Emachine T3624 will not power up

Emachines are notorious for having faulty power supplies. If your lucky you just need to replace the power supply. I've seen a lot of them where the power supply also fried the motherboard.

Please don't forget to rate this solution.

Pushing the start button and nothing happens on my emachine T2984

I think your power supply has gone bad and will need to be replaced. You can get a 500 watt power supply for about 60 bucks and you can replace it yourself. very easy
