I changed the ink cartridges in my Epson cx4800 and now it won't print at all. The error lite is a solid red and it just sits there taunting me...I've checked all the connections, turned it off and on again....tried using the preferences troubleshooter.....help.

Please remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a dry lint free paper towel and gently wipe the contacts on the back of the cartridge (not the bottom from where ink is present). Wipe the contacts inside the printer (on cartridge carrier). Please snap the cartridges back into the cartridge carrier and please try to print a printer self test.
I had the same problem too. I went to the Epson website and they gave instructions to shake the cartridge 4-5 times prior to installing. It worked!!! I tried alot of things before I saw that I needed to shake the cartridge. Definitely give this a try if you haven't already.
my CX4800 has done the same thing. I ran the utilities dozens of times, replaced every cartridge and it feeds papers the print head moves like it's printing but nothing is imaged on the paper.
Searching the web is my last chance to fix it before i toss this 18 month old printer and never buy an epson again.
Hi, reason we sell epson printers are they are the cheapest to run, but they do get alot of problems with the print heads, if you change from using refill ink kits to compatible ink cartridges you would not have to reset the chip each time, otherwise you will have to change to a more expensive to run printer like the HP, or Lexmark, lexmark is the most expensive for cartridges but it has the print heads built into the cartridge and not the printer itsself, epson only have the chip on the cartridge.
You can use the refill kits on most HP & Lexmark without having to reset the cartridge all you need to do is refill it.
but for every 3 for example you may have to buy a new cartridge which will be more expensive, ie if you get lines through your print, as the print head will probably get blocked on cartrdige.
I had the cartridges refilled the yellow and red ink. After I renew two T0604 and T0603 ink. It doesn't work. any idea why? Please tell me why and show me how to do it. Thanks
