Question about Canon MP610 Photo All-In-One Printer

The printer that supports my printer cannot be found

I have a mp610

i plugged it in and turned it on, and connected it to my computer - i get the message this device and work faster...

i put in the installation CD, i install 'easy install'

i open a word doc and ctrl-p i cannot not see it there

i got to printers and faxes, i go to add printer, i click on auto detect my plug and play i get no plug and play printer can be found

i got to start - all programs - canon utilities - my printer and i get the printer that supports my printer cannot be found

i double check its turned on and plugged it

can anyone help with this issue?

I have OS-X 10.4.11 and had the same issue; any printing just spat out blank pages.

I installed the following driver which completely resolved the issue:

I was reading from that canon printer and the only type of connection is usb no wireless found or network, but you can share your printer if you are on local network.

Hi,
Thank you for your promptitude.
Today I solved my problem. Was a cable connection problem. Cable incompatibilit or all 3 cables used before are damaged. Tuday I buy an other new cable and SUCCESS!!!: my computer see de printer ("new hardware found" when attach usb cable) , create virtual usb port, install the drivers (I have the drivers downloaded from the Canon web site) and printer is working fine.

Canon support was able to help me with this issue.

First, scanning with the MF Toolbox is only supported via USB, not across the network (scanning across the network generally does work but you need another application that supports it). Second, you must make sure that you have switched the device into USB scan mode. Press the Scan button on the device. If the display says "Network scanning" press it again until it says USB Scanning. From then on, scanning works beautifully.

My laptop has CanonMP610 installed but when I click on print, I get a message that the printer is not responding. The printer cable is plugged into the computer and the printer works on another laptop.


  1. Unplug the Canon MP610.
  2. Click on the Start Menu, then Control Panel. Open the Printers, or Devices and Printers control panel. Find your Canon MP610 printer and Delete or Remove the device by Right Clicking on the device and selecting Delete or Remove.
  3. Restart the PC.
  4. When in Windows, plug your Canon MP610 in and wait for device installation to complete, or reinstall the CD drivers.
  5. Try printing a test page.

I plug my coby mp3 n the computer can't read it
