My Treo 755p just started looping between the Palm logo and Access Powered screen while I was attempting to open a file in my Documents-to-Go program. Removing the battery and replacing oy does not correct the problem, even if the battery is left out overnight This obviously is an internal malfunction and of no fault of my own. The phone has not been dropped or otherwise abused. After seeing the other similar posts, it is clear to me that this is a design flaw on the part of the phone maker. I have not yet been able to take it to a Verizon service center since I live in a rural area without such a center close by. This is very inconvenient to say the least since I run a medical practice and depend entirely on my cell for off hours emergency calls. If I can't depend on the phone, I do not want it...it's as simple as that.

Yep, I had the problem this morning out of the blue the looping began! Verizon was very helpful over the phone, but nothing fixed it. They are fed exing a new one to me in the alm. I am worried that it will happen again; no clue what happened or why. She asked me if I had downloaded any third party software. I had not.

    Very inconvient.

Not clear on which button to push, my attempts do not seem to do anything.

I do not have a warranty replacement option as my screen had mysteriously cracked, and I replaced it with a screen from another unit. The take-apart and replacement (probably) voided warranty, and Alltel replacement on warranty requires authorization of a charge-back if warranty was voided.

Attempt at hard reset (removing and replacing battery with red "end" button held) does nothing. If I replace the battery while connected to sync cable, I get 6 color rectangles (red, green, blue) and the number 0.19 on the screen.

I had the same problem, and here is how I fixed it. First, I hit the middle up/down key at the top as it was cycling between Access/Palm, and when it came to Palm, I turned it loose. This got it to go to the regular screen, but guess what....my phone would not work! So, I took it to the local Verizon dealer at Circuit City, and there I asked the guy if he would do a Hard Reset. He did, go the phone back up working again, but of course I lost EVERYTHING. Luckily, I had done a syn not too long before, and instead of telling the long story of what all happened there, I was able to get all the backed up info back onto my phone, and now everything is back to normal. This has happened to me twice (the first phone was replaced as defective, but it could have been fixed the same way). I love the Palm 755p, but be sure and sync as often as possible on your computer. It saves you from having to enter a ton of phone contacts back in manually!

Solution: Exchange if still under warranty.

I just called Alltel support to ask about a solution to my Palm Treo 755p which is in a death loop. It started to loop when I was selecting the Blue Tooth application. I tried a reset and as the 755p reopened it started to loop again with the Access Powered window displayed. Alltel suggested that an exchange take place. They had no explanation for the cause. The solution within less than a minute was an exchange. Sounds like an operating system bug.

I took my 755p to the local service center where they replaced it as defective. Sounds like a little gremlin. I was thinking about moving over to the centro.....but they said those have problems too.

Good luck.

Hello, have a Palm 755p Treo screen just keeps flashing

There are multiple reasons for the phone to go into an endless loop.

Fix #1 - Soft Reset - Take out the battery. On the back of your phone, pop the cover off, remove battery, place battery back in and it will show each screen once and power on normally.

Fix #2 - Hard Reset - To do a hard reset, hold the power button while you replace the battery and then release it when the Palm logo appears.

Fix #3 - Hammer

Dhorner64 is incorrect. Your phone is not fried if you are in a restart loop. You need to do a "warm reset" which will not erase data. It is the equivalent of doing a safe boot in Windows. Remove the battery from your 755p, then put it back while holding the up button on the 5-way. Hold the up button as the phone starts. I had to do this frequently, then run the DataViz Tech app, which is available free from DataViz, to fix their prefs file, which was the source of my crashes. The problem was solved by upgrading to Docs2go v11. I was reluctant to pay to upgrade a crashing app, but the upgrade ended the frequent crashes. I have not had a couple resets since upgrading Docs2go, and no reset loops.

Palm 755P Freezes

Well, thank God I had done a recent Hot sync! I found out how to do a hard reset by holding down the power button while reinserting the battery then letting the button go and the system will ask if you want to erase all data? I put yes! Then it erases all my data and restarts the phone. I had to plug the phone in to be recharged because the looping ultimately drains the battery. Then, I plugged in the Hot sync cable and pushed the button to start the sync and ta da! back to its working state! Yippee! Do it! It's easy! Just make sure to hot sync often so your info stays current!

Treo 755p phone audio stops working

try doing a hard reset just make sure you hotsync first so you can backup all your information. Always keep in mind the software you have loaded write it down and the website you got them from along with any registration codes. when doing a hard reset you will lose all the information and programs on the phone basically it will take you back to the way you first bought it.

How to Hard Reset a Treo 755 To perform a hard reset/clean wipe of a Treo 755, do the following:

1. Remove the battery cover from the back of the device.
2. Press and hold the power (red phone) button.
3. While holding the red power button remove and replace the battery from the device.
4. When you see the "Access Powered" screen on the device take you finger off of the power button. At this point, you'll be prompted to erase the device by pressing up on the directional pad.

Good Luck I hope this helps with your problem

Pairing a AtivaBT220 to a palm treo 755

Make sure both devices are turned on.
Do a search for new devices with the phone, it should find all devices in range. Select the device you want the phone to pair with. Use 0000 as a password.

Treo 650 Problem

probably dodgy software conflict. Try taking battery out and leaving for anhour or two then take out sim carrier. Put battery back and see if it starts properly. If not looping put sim in and try to switch phone on. if this works then there is a problem with software you have loaded so switch off back up before you sync. Then once you have synched the phone add back applications one at a time until you find the one that causes the problem. Of course you have to do it all over again once you have found the culprit!

Another cause, if you have attempted to upgrade the firmware, is a failure of the upgrade process. if you can't get this to work I am afraid the phone is bricked and needs to go back to Palm for repair.
