Question about Nortel i2050

Rings but no sound- I2050

Hey guys, I have the I2050 Nortel IP fone- hooked into my companies VPN and phone network.
I have this sporadic issue where I'm not getting a dial tone, however I can still make calls but no one can hear me on the other end. And Vice Versa- I can receive calls, it rings, I pickup but am not able to hear anything and noone can hear me.

Any suggestions?/ I've been struggling with this for a while so any help is appreicated.

    Thanks- yeah I can Skype or use any other program with voice and video fine.

    Same problem with no sound, but you can press DTMF keys on the i2050 and hear it on the other end. Also if you use conference, and bring in all 3 parties, now you get voice on all three.

    Same EXACT issue. Using PPTP, able to hear the buttons pressed but not the actual call, dialtone etc.



    No firewall restrictions.



    PLEASE HELP

Check your firewall settings. Make sure you can pass voice traffic. Can you Skype?

my i ask you say you are trying to login to the phone why?
when you say you but them on to a new tn did you put both ext back on the same tn

hello,

you can downgrade to an earlier version that doesn't require a liscense. you probably know that.Try upgrading to the latest (3.02.0045) version.

How to transfer a call on Nortel Networks M3904


Use the Transfer feature to redirect a call to the appropriate person.
To use the Transfer feature to direct a call to a third party:
To return to the original call, if the transfer is incomplete:
1. Press the Transfer soft key. The other
party is on hold and a dial tone sounds.
The LCD indicator light flashes steadily.
2. Dial the DN to which the call is to be
transferred or use Personal Directory,
Redial List
, or Callers List to select a
number to dial.
3. When that number rings or a person
answers, press the Transfer soft key to
connect the calling party.
If the person called is not available,
press the line (DN) key (next to the LCD
indicator) to reconnect to the original
call.

This could be the problem with your signaling server , have you checked it ??
I think it is losing connectivity of T-Lan Network.
