This is the correct way to wire the right front burner on Jenn-Air JEC8430ADS cooktop. Let's do the red wires first. The red wire that comes from #2 on the switch goes to the common connection for the element that should be labeled 2a. The other red wire goes to either of the "b", hot surface indicator switch contacts and the black to the other. Use 1b or 2b for these connections whichever reaches easiest. The yellow wire goes to the inside loop of the burner and the tan to the outside element.
The switch contacts are burnt and sticking. Very common problem. The model and serial should be behind the bottom drawer on the (right side for GE). This switch runs around 45 dollars. I do not recommend using a "universal" as they are just a pain to install and cut the shafts.
the contact may be loose but most likely the burner needs to be replaced. the one you use the most usually goes first, and not getting hot enough is the common indicater of a shot burner
YES THEY USE DIFRENT SWITCHES AND IF THE 1 YOU HAVE PROBLEN IS THE DUAL BURNER THER IS A SERVISE FLACH ON IT YOU NEED TO GO TO SERVISE MATER.COM AND FIND THE UPGRATE
