IT seems like the laser that is reading the info from the DVDs is not working properly on you device. Since the DVD player is less then a year old still under manufacturers warranty.
I would suggest to contact the vendor or manufacturer to have ir repair under warranty.

Hi,

This could be indicative of either a dirty or defective lens. Let's try the cleaning first. The easiest would be to use a CD disc cleaner similar to those used in computer's CD ROMs normally and readily available from most computer shops. Should this not be corrective, you may need to try and manually clean the insides by opening the unit. Should you not be comfortable going this route, then perhaps your best bet would be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

After apprrox 5 mins unit switches off

Not sure if this will help, but mine acted up similarly before it went with a message of "Please Wait" on the display at all times. Searched the web, found out two capacitors needed to be replaced. My brother was able to easily solder the parts in a very short time. Google the name and model number with the words Please Wait and you can see how many folks have had this problem. Your machine may be on its way to this problem.

I have good friends that got their machine at the same time. Same thing happened to them within one month of me telling them about it. Our machines are about 4 years old as well.

Another big problem. I then got a U99 Error Code. Completly frozen machine. From my researcy I may have caused the problem by storing too much on hard drive. Once you transfer video, get it off the hard drive. They say mine can not be fixed. Problem is, they do not make them anymore. No hard drives for recording or dubbing DVDs.

open tray
(no disk inside)

1. Turn on the player.
2. Open the tray.
3. Press the following sequence on the remote: 9-9-9-9-0
4. The number 0 will appear on the lower left side of your screen.
5. Your player is now region free! Put in a DVD and enjoy!
NOTE: The 0 in the sequence above represents the region code. 0 = region free. If you want to change your player to just a specific region code, replace the 0 with the region number you want.

misaligned laser causing it to stop and restart back to blue this unit would need a new laser put in it or for it to be recalibrated.
