Interior lights or anything electrical on while car is not running causes battery to go dead within 30 minutes. Battery 1 year old. Auto parts store tests and says battery and alternator are fine. Of course, car starts when taken to auto parts store.

If you are referring to the battery save mode that disables interior lighting, radio, and other nonessential accessories after 10 minutes, no.

I doubt the service person did anything wrong. In today's cars with both engine and body computers, jump starting a car can be risky.
You're better off having the battery charged for an hour or so then trying to start it.
You may have to have the body computer scanned and possibly flashed to get everything working again. The body computer controls everything you mentioned. It could have lost some of the factory programming when the system was dead.

if your battery is dead, its probably a bad battery and you need to have it checked. if the battery is found to be good ( but just discharged ) then you most likely have a bad alternator and that is causing your battery to die. LOW voltage or high voltage to your car will make lots of weird stuff happen.
auto parts stores can check both parts 4 u if you can get the car there.

Replace the battery, and all problems should be resolved. If the battery in car is older than 4 years old, this should be only thing to replace. If the vehicle runs either by replacing the battery, or jump starting, and dies soon after or within a few days, then the alternator will need to be replaced. Battery is most likely cause.

Does it start if you jump it? It sounds like the battery is going dead overnight. Check to make sure that there are no lights staying on (interior, trunk, glove box, etc.) that would drain the battery. If the battery is more than two or three years old, it may have a dead cell. It will take a charge and appear to be okay, but runs down very quickly. Most auto parts stores will be happy to check your charging system and battery at no cost.

1) Battery cables disconnected 2) Battery dead, probably shorted. Any other electrical problem, would leave some systems alive. A run down battery that wont turn over the engine, will still be able to power dome lights, or other accesories.

Most likely yes; but after replacing the battery, be sure to make sure the charging system is working. Whgen the car is running, the voltage at the battery should read between 14 - 16 volts

If the battery is VERY dead it may take quite a while jump start the car. You may have to run the car with the good battery for five or ten minutes to get enough charge in the old battery to start the car. Other wise a very dead battery will just "soak up" the electricity from the good battery. If your battery was old to begin with it may be unserviceable. I would take the battery out and take it to an auto parts store that can charge and test it. They will usually do this for free.

Sounds like the timing unit which automatically turns off your dome lights after a few minutes is working backwards. Probably need a new unit.
