I have a older Jenn air electric cook top and I need to replace the burner element on one side. How do I get the old one out and where do I find parts. JEA 800 ADB

I have the same issue.

You will have to replace the switch associated with the burner element with the problem.

Go back and recheck your wiring. It sounds like you have the burners wired in series together.

It's a piece of ****, replace it the first chance you get.

1) turn off power at the breaker. 2) remove hold down screws 3) pop up cooktop out of counter top 4) remove knobs and downdraft grille 5) remove ceramic top (screws around outside and also in side grille opening) 6) unplug burners replace with new burner

they make a special cleaner - polish just for the "solid" type burners. it looks like shoe polish and will make the burners look like new again. not sure where you can find it online but go to your local appliance parts houseand they will know what it is your needing.

I just had the same problem- when I replaced the whole cartridge.
I repalced the infinite switch- do the one that gets the hottest- or do both.
It is easy to do- just write down the wiring diagram - make sure all power is off- cost of new switch was about $37.00
This solved the problem- however make sure to check the sizng on the new switch shaft as my old knob would not fit properly on the shaft of the new switch.

you may have lost a leg of your 240V service. make sure you have 240 to the appliance and then start chasing down where you lost it. there is no onboard trip or reset on this unit
