On the metal box where the two cables from the color wheel plugged look for a tiny rectangular opening in the metal shield---there is a tiny jumper plug there, remove it carefully with a tiny pair of needle nose pliers.
One of the things they do not tell you when you replace the color wheel, it is somewhat different than the original one.
A number of people have commented that after changing the color wheel,
their red and blue colors are reversed. This is a different color wheel
and a newer model set than is documented here, but, some report that by
removing a jumper on the color wheel, the problem is resolved.
The jumper is as shown in this picture, below the yellow/white label.
The following link will give you a step by step on how to do so. I did so and it worked perfect http://www.jangro.com/electronics/samsung-dlp-replace-color-wheel/. If once you install the new color wheel the colors on your screen are reversed all that has to be done is pull out the TINY rubber looking thing with 2 pins in it under the yellow/white sticker, not 1 inch or 3/4 inch under the sticker. Right below the sticker where that rectangular opening is.
did u not pull the jumper if u put in a new air bearing color wheel it spins much faster u have too pull the jumper on the board beside the little fan its black just pull straight out its black little plastic thing look on the silver slotted case youll see two little square opening one has the black jumper right there pull it out did mine already see ya
Regarding the tv turning, my question is, do you hear a clicking sound? if so, it's most probable tio be your ballast, that might not have enough voltage to keep on with your lamp, and that's why it shuts off.
You could try replacing it and seeing if it resolves your issue, I believe they're running around 70 dlls..
have a great one ! :)
yes its true grt your self a pair of needel nose pliers and pull that jumper.
I had a tv set in my shop for weeks till i lerend that one
wat it was is that the new color weel motors are air cor and spin faster that the originals, so pull the black jumper it looks like a small hard drive just remove it
your set will auto ajust.
ther are sum small settings to add in the service menue to fine tune it.
but first pull that jumper..
seting can be found on google... i think i found it on tech assist.
and enterd model number.
There is a place for a jumper on your DMD (the module that the color wheel plugs in to) If the jumper is there remove it. If there is no jumper install one. On later models the pins are gone but solder pads are still there, solder it. Some wheels have air bearing and others have fluid bearing. You really should buy a service manual for that set. New color wheels sometimes come with CCA values that you must change in the service menu Good Luck
Well after reading a lot more on the internet I figured out that there is a jumper that has to be removed when you update to the new style color wheel. Also when you get the new wheel there is a new set of color setting that needs to be programed into the tv itself. NOW the picture is AWESOME! better than when it was new.
I just had a service tech out and replaced the color wheel. now i have the same issue with the color...the people all look blue. He told me that now the the digital board is bad. It's the board were all of the connections go. I'm not convinced, as I remember reading something about color settings needing to be adjusted after color wheel replacement.
