Standby light for toshiba

I have a toshiba tdp-s8 projector the yellow light flashes but the bulb does not light I replaced the lamp but samething.

Probably power supply or ballast (starts the lamp)

either would be $600.00 or so to repair, probably costs more than the projector is worth.

Once you replace the lamp you need to go into settings and reset the bulb hours back to zero. That will take care of your problem

My projector lamp turn on about 2 then turn off. light bulb haves

the power supply needs to be replaced. if you're good at soldering, there is a capacitor that dries up quickly on the ps board. i believe it's c2.

HOW TO RESET TOSHIBA TDP-S8 LAMP

after installing the new lamp, hold the volume top & bottom key simulteniously, when green light indicate at panel start the projector & go to service there you may found reset lamp ? press yes the lamp will reset.

TDP-S8 only run for 20 sec.

Possible filter problem or sensor related to over heat. Might also be a bad bulb or worn out bulb.
Leaning more towards bulb replacement.

Same problem as below.

I have the same projector, and had the SAME problem.
After unplugging and taking on a trip it didn't work...it just lit up for 2 secs, and then shut off....

LEAVE it plugged in for as long as it takes for the light to stop blinking, and then it should start up on its own, or if you press the on/standby buton.
Be patient, hope this works for you too!

Projecter not working

I have this same problem with no indication of what is wrong with the projector. I have checked the bulb and see no lines (veins) or bubbles on it.

Ok this would be a faulty lamp if you can spot bubbles or vein like looking marks on it in either black or white.

I'm sure you'll solve this by just replacing the lamp and resetting the lamp timer.

No power

It seems like my toshiba goes into, stanby... i plug it up, and the standby light just flashes.. for a while, and then it stops until i unplug it and plug it back up... it will not come on...

Its like its in standby mold..

Does it need a new lamp..

I looked at the lamp, and it look like it was ok, but i did notice something they may look like bubbles, or something inside, im not sure though...

Toshiba TDP S8 projector shuts down suddenly

The reason why the projector is shutting off is so the lamp doesn't explode. It's more of a safety feature on the projector, you can reset the lamp and it might work for another 500hours. If the picture is still pretty bright I can get you the reset procedure, but be warn that when the lamp does eventually blow it could shatter the glass inside, so be careful, it shouldn't hurt the unit.
