Question about Washing Machines
Timer advances and washer agitates and drains but when it comesto the spin cycle it just sounds like its ryna spin but its not. i have to open the lid and close it again or stop the washer then start it again to get it to drain. please help.
Between the pump out and spin cycle is a very brief pause you have to listen to it to catch it. when this happens the clutch engages and releases the brakes and then the washer spins. I believe you have a problem with this brake clutch assembly.
In my Opinion This not a do it yourself project,
Now you have replaced the timer so you have money already invested in a used washer, the question to you is do you have it repaired? or is it time to spend your $$ and buy a new washing machine? has the machine been repaired before? How old is the washer? how much laundry do you do a week?
Call several repair shops and tell them you think you need a clutch assembly and ask for an estimates before they come out.
