It depends. If your printer cost less than $300, then no. If it's a $6000 printer, then yes. Since you didn't tell us what printer you had, it's hard to ascertain the correct response however I hope thse prices can guide you to your decision.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya. Thank you.

B200 error on canon mp560.. Dont know how to solve it

I work for staples and alot of the questions I get about canon printers and error messages revolve around ink cartridges and printer drivers. So if you've already tried those two and your printer is over 2 years old I can tell you it'll probably cost too much to fix to make it worth the cost (as you probably already know) wish I could give you better advice but at the current cost of this technology a new printer could be your out.

My arm350n sharp digital copier says that my finisher needs service. is it worth fixing

Honestly, No it is really not worth fixing. Most of the error codes with the finisher deal with the stapler unit and the guides that move for the stapler to work. Do you know if the finisher has all of the up dates installed? If not, it may cost just as much to fix it. Sorry for the bad news... Make sure the copier is OFF and take the cable out of the back of the copier and push the finisher from the copier and use it as a stand a lone copier..... Good Luck

I've got an HP R40 multifunction printer. Yes, it is old, but it don't know of another printer out there that will do what it does. I'm having a problem when I try to copy something, it will scan the...

I had the same problem and HP claimed it was the roller on the feed unit. I do think they are programed to feed a little different for scaned documents than copied docs. HP gave me a new printer worth more rather than even try to fix it. Here is a tip. Take the insurance on the extended protection especially if you have a 4 unit function (fax, scanner, copier and printer) chances are 1 function will break before the end of your extended protection. You always get a new unit, rather than them fixing it. It's really worth the 50 bucks if you buy a high end unit.

Ricoh Laser AP2000 Error Code SC_500

Well, I've never worked on one of these, but you're right it is a "main motor failure" error.
That's a costly repair, no matter what, so I guess the answer is probably "no" it's not worth fixing.

Cannot fix alarm

I had the same problem and the only way that I got it fixed was to take it into a service center. Even though it was out of warranty they still ended up covering it which tells me that it is a common defect. I don't know that your problem is the same as my unit's defect, but it is worth a try. When I took it in they didn't know if they could cover it under warranty until they got inside the machine.

Our printer won't feed the paper through.

The pickup rollers can become glazed or clogged with paper fibers reducing the traction they can apply to the paper.
I am not personally familiar with your printer so I don't know how accessible they are but they need to be cleaned or resurfaced with a compound that bonds to the surface of the rollers and restores their grip.
There is a discussion of this rejuvenator here:

Paper jam

Don't know if it's the same problem i had but its maybe worth a try. Mine is a Canon MP160 but again its maybe worth a try.
My paper went in a little, the wheels were turning but it didn't take the rest of the paper or print.
Someone replied to my problem, i tried it and it fixed 1st time. Also seems to of worked for others

Solution:- Use a piece of thin card, a magazine cover is what i used, make sure its A4 size then try to print something, as the paper starts moving push it through! and hey presto it worked for me, everything printing fine now
