Question about Delphi Roady XT XM Radio Receiver

2 Answers

Stations dropped I've had my Roady XT installed for about 9 months now and it has been working great. But now for some reason my radio is skipping over some XM stations. I used to get station 121 (Fox news), but now my radio skips from 120 to 122. This is also occurring with station 8 (the 80's) - when I scroll through the stations my radio skips from 7 to 9. i had XM resend my radio a signal, but it did nothing to solve the problem. Can you help?

I had the same problem with dropping stations. I've had the service for two years with no problems. Then one day I tuned in to find that some stations I previously received and listened to were no longer available, even through direct entry. These stations included 140 ESPN, 143 Fox sports, 127 CNBC, among others. These were all stations that I had preset. Others that I had preset are still available. When I enter '140' in direct entry I get "updating" and then am returned to the station I was previously listening to. Help!

I have the exact same problem.  I lost channel 8, as well as all the MLB channels (170's).  This seems like an odd coincidence.

Go to refresh.xmradio.com and insert your radio ID and click submit. It will resend the activation signal and should unlock your channels within 15-20 minutes.

I can hear a soft squealing noise when my Roady is in the home dock. Also it starts changing stations randomly by itself. Any suggestions?

If you're using XM Direct to input channels, press the select key after tuning to the channel. If you're not, perform a factory reset. The squealing noise is because of interference with your speakers, it's normal (unless you don't hear any music).

My roady xt does not have a fm select option on the menu

You need to have it in the AUTO base/cradle - AND - you cannot have anything plugged into the LINE OUT or AUX OUT jack, as it will disable the FM transmitter. Try unplugging the audio output, then you'll be able to select the FM transmitter again. I believe that they removed the option from the HOME cradle/dock all together because of regular AM/FM radio stations complaining to the FCC that the transmitters were too strong (in other words, they wanted to hurt satellite radio competition or slow it down as much as possible by forcing Sirius and XM go back and redesign their radios for a much weaker or NO FM transmitter).

When I press the power button the screen flashes once & then goes blank again. Some times I see a quick flash of "XM-Radio" This started happening overnight one night-nochanges on our part.

I had exactly the same problem with my Roady XT. The power supply gradually failed, with the symptom that the reception kept getting weaker and more spotty. Finally, the Roady would not turn on. The screen flashed as you describe. I happened to have another 5VDC, 2A power supply in the closet from some other electronic gismo from the past (I save the power supplies just in case). the connector on the old power supply was not correct for the Roady XT, but a little surgery put the new plug on the old supply... (verified by a volt meter). When I plugged it in the Roady quickly turned on and showed full signal strength. This had never happened in 2 years of use. Apparently this radio needs more power than the stock power supply can provide. Now it "loads" stations in 2-3 seconds and never fades.

Roady xt

i figured it out with help from a delphi service rep.! you need to go into the menu and reset to factory default.this will erase everything you have changed from the factory settings, but once done you can reprogram your settings and they will stay. step 1-enter menu step 2-reset factory default settings step 3-reprogram your preset stations,FM freq. colors etc. step 4-use power button on the roady to turn it off.once the roady shuts down turn it back on with the power button. step 4-now you should be able to turn the key off without erasing your presets.

Chances are it's not picking up the XM signal. First, contact XM to resend your setup. if that doesn't work check your antenna connections.
