Radio Shack Multimeter, 22-168a, shunt resistor value????

Go to the Radio Shack site and you may with the model number find a schematic or you can email/contact them for the value of the resistor.

I predict it is a precision value and type you will have to get from them if available.

PS: you posted in wrong catagory as this is TV section.

Hitachi 61UWX10BA RPTV Convergence Repair

All of the resistors that fail are very low reading ones---like RK54(1.5 OHM-1 WATT) RK50(2.2 OHM 1 WATT) AND RK58(2.7 OHM 1 WATT)

These are not large resistors--all have location numbers on top of the board under them---most of the protection ones will begin with RK----check them like a fuse--they rarely go off value and if no reading across them they are bad---

There will be some higher value resistors like 150 or 220 ohm----never seen one of those bad.

Sometimes you just have to check them all and if they are good replace the chips and see what you have.

Do not forget to apply heat sink compound to the new chips before you install them(remove any old grease first from the heat sink.)

Good soldering is important here.

Projection tv 42" panosonic hdtv. to much green in the picture. Jeff

this unit may have a resistor on the green crt-board that has increased in value. check ohms(resistance) on all crt boards and compare to one another. these will have color bands that inicate value of resistance. you do not need to know color code, just match colors of resistors on each board then measure. you could also have weak green tube. turning down the master screen control located on the fous/screen block can reduce grn. drive. to adjust proper drive for each so the grey scale is correct, turn color to tv all the way down then adjust screen controls on block for black & white picture. when color is turned all the way down, you should not have any green, red, or blue over cast on screen. mch

STK392-110 Upgrade to STK392-150

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, should be none. The resistor should not be upgraded unlike the STKs. Technically, the ohmage/resistance values should still be the same. If you change to a higher wattage, then, what is improved is the heating capacity, meaning it will be more tolerant to the heat but the resistance value should still be the same.

The STK upgrade is actually more to improved heat handling/transfer capacity of the STK ICs. The technically correct description is high power used in low capacity hence will not heat as much as the originally installed.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Resisters questions

Its best to replace both IC's. As far as the resistors, there are location #'s marked on the board where the resistors are mounted. If any look burnt, get the location numbers off the board, and your model # and email me @ halselectronics@comcast.net. I will get you the resistor values.

Tosiba TZ55V61 Convergence IC 150?s vs 110?s

STK392-150 can be replacement for 110's no other resister values need to be changed, however be sure bad resisters are replaced and check all the resisters (6) have been taken out of circuit and checked. also check for solder cracks and cold solder joints.
