Question about System Power Supplies

HP Laptop Help, I have a HP laptop - not sure of model but it's at least a couple of years old. I went away for the weekend and left it plugged in. When I returned, it wouldn't power up. I charged it over night and the battery is still dead. Any suggestions on next steps?

Unplug the adapter from laptop, then take battery out adn wait 5 to 10 secs, then reinsert battery and try turn it ON
if that doesn't work, take battery out and try power ON with adapter only.

make sure it is compatible first if it isn't it'll not power the computer (best case scenario) or fry it (worst case scenario) look up the computer's requirements as well as compatible power supplies and make sure that the power supply is not so old that it is a safety hazard.

No power

HI,
you haven't mentioned clearly is the laptop in on state or are the batteries able to give power to laptop to start

try this solution if you have checked that the Ac Adapter is finr

take out the battery from the laptop and then plugin the AC adapter and then try to start your laptop

if your laptop starts without the battery by getting power through the Ac adapter, most likely your battery is Bad, get it replaced, if it doesn't start then it can be power circuit on the motherboard or the connectors you should get it checked from a technician.

If you think my solution was helpfull please do rate me

Laptop won't turn on and charging light is not orange when plugge

I had the exact same problem. Here is the fix: remove the keyboard, battery and CMOS battery then press and hold the power button for a min. Plug just the power in then try to turn it back on. If it doesnt remove more perhiprels such as DVD, memory, hard drive then do the power button hold cycle again. After it turns on, remove the power then add the perhiprels you need to boot to BIOS, i.e; keyboard & memory. Go to BIOS then plug in the battery while the laptop is running. Unplug the power to see make sure laptop runs on the battery. Turn off then add the rest of perhiprels then plug it in power again before closing all up. If the orange light problem comes back repeat above! OR you can take it to your HP dealer to have it fixed under warranty if you are lucky. Then never buy HP ****!

Hope it helps...

Charging Problems with FUJITSU SIEMENS AMILO PRO V2055

SOunds to me like the charge board inside the laptop has gone bad. If it will not run off of the mains supply without the battery and will not charge the battery, this is your problem. AS far as where you can get the parts or have it repaired. I am unsure of because I would need the full model and make of the laptop which didn't fit in the listing title bar above If you could send me more info, I would be glad to try to help.

Acer Laptop Does not power ON At All!

Either the laptop has gone bad or the power supply has gone bad. You could buy a universal power supply at Best Buy, test your unit and then return the power supply. Not very moral thing to do but it will tell you if its the supply or the laptop. If it is the supply then you'll have a spare.

Mx35 no power

Hi, can you use a multimeter? If so then check on the power suply what the voltage output should be for that unit. Then with the power turned on GREAT CAUTION MUST BE TAKEN AT THIS STAGE AS TESTING THE WRONG END COULD CAUSE ELECTROCUTION use the meter to test the laptop end plug only and see what power output you have. If you can not do this then take the power supply to a technician and have it tested. If ok = dead battery, if not replace power unit. Regards mistyman
