Question about Lands Phones
That is a common problem with those types of displays, they are sensitive to heat, cold and any movement. They were used by Siemens, and almost all the other manufacturers during this time period. Unfortunately on this particular model, they are not soldered in, they are pressed on by a machine. So if you don't have a Zebra cable press machine ($1000's), and a brand new display, you can only resort to sending it in for repair. Sorry.

SOURCE: faulty cordless phone handset
an initial simple check you can make is to make sure that the secrecy or mute button is not activated or stuck, however as you say that the phone is brand new, I would strongly advise you to contact the vendor immediately and ask for it to be replaced as it is faulty.

To set the time you fist have to know military time. if the time is 1:00 am it is 0100 military, 6:00pm is 1800
etc until you get to 12pm
and so on until midnight 12am
now the minutes are the same
the seconds are the same
5:35:45 am= 053545
8:10:30 pm= 201030
so the is is the format as Phone dude was putting it Hours:Minutes:Seconds
to adjust set update the time and date on the toshiba dkt3020sd dkt 3020-sd dkt-3020sd
you have to just press # followed by 652 access code
then you will hear the tone twice. now take the time you have with the formula above
example time is now 6:10:30pm you press #652 wait for tone, the enter 181030 then press # to accept. It helps if you just have a cell or a standard clock that you want to sync. I personally use my works computer and wait to the time is even say 5pm easier so i would just wait to that time to adjust the phones clock. #652 tone look at computer clock and press 170000 just before it hits that time and when it does i just press # and viola its sync. that is just me. you can set it what ever time you want. if you dont care about being a few seconds off the just round it up and just press # its almost 720am so heck just #652 and wait for tone and dial 070000 and then # and your set.
Date is alittle easier.
again its just #651 Month day year 03 10 2008 03102008 # done. I hate this ****** daylight savings time
WEll good luck it took me 2 hrs of searching to finially get this answer and now i am sharing it
Where i finally found the info
Here is the complete owners manual
