Sound like you might have some dirt on the lens, color wheel, or lamp.

Unplug your set first before trying this.

If you are comfortable opening up the back of the set, you might try shooting a small puff of canned air toward the lens to see if the problem changes. Try not to stir up too much dust lest it cause other issues. If the problem changes, a good cleaning might be the solution.

Please call in an expert if you aren't comfortable taking apart the TV yourself. Check your manufactures recommendations fr cleaning your set.

Hope this helps.

Own a Samsung DLP TV 42 inch and white dots have

The random whit dots you are seeing is more than not the DMD or million little mirrors board. The white spots represent some of the mirrors that are sticking in the on position. In that case they are always reflecting white light from the lamp. I don't concider the DMD board a do it yourself repair since on the older DLP set it requires mechanical alignment as well. The best thing to do is contact a techincian and see what they might charge to repair the TV for you. Please take a few moments to rate my answer...Thanks..

White dots in plasma tv

The only thing you can try is to adjust the tiny control on the Y board, if you want to try do this. Open the set , set it up so you can watch it with the back off. now looking at the back on the left side you will see a circuit board larger connected to a smalled one or two that go to the screen edge . on the larger board look for a few small controls, mark their positions with a dark sharpy then turn each a little while looking at the dots to see if one makes them better or worse. If one control effects the dots try to center it for the least amount of dots, if no effect is observed when a control is turned return it the original position that you mark before starting. if the dots do not clear either the Y board is bad or the whole scfreen is defective.

White dots all over screen

this seems to be an issue either with your DMD board or with your Digital Video board... turn on the tv and go to the menu if the white dots appear on the menu the issue is with your DMD board but if they don't show on the menu, the issue would most probbaly be with your Digital Video board
