Yes you will, good news samsung is one of the easy ones,, first unplug the unit, then take two screws out of top on the back,, push the top cover back and off,,,,,,, then take the screws out of the top of the control panel tilt it forward then up,, you will now see more screws remove these also, open the door and look at the bottom of the gasket, you will see a spring on a wire ring, take a small flat head and remove the ring,, fold the gasket back into the unit,, then moving back to the top push in the tabs and the front should tilt forward,, you will need to reach down inside the unit and unplug the door lock then the front panel can be took off,, take the weights off be carefull they are heavy to be small, then locate the back clamp that holds the gasket and remove it,, install the new one, just like the old one came off,,MAKE SURE THE GASKET SITS IN THE GROVE THEN INSTALL THE CLAMP AND WEIGHTS, THEN INSTALL THE REST OF THE PARTS IN THE SAME ORDER YOU TOOK THEM OFF,, when you are putting the outside spring back on it will be kinda hard,, do not use any tools as you will tear the new gasket,, but make sure it sits in the grove

Water leaks from door while unit is operating could this be seal or door needs to be adjusted

Hello, If water is leaking from the door most likely you have a tear or a rip in the bellows which is the rubber piece that connects the outter tub to the front cabinet. Look around in the fold of the bellows this is usually where you will find the tear. If you have any further questions message me back. Thanks Rick

Water is filling up in drum when machine is not in use.

The inlet solenoid valve is either defective or some dirt particle has lodged in the seat and is allowing water to leak through. Normally this part cannot be dismantled and needs to be replaced. It is located right where the inlet hose connects. Remove it and pressurise it with water to see if it leaks and it it can be cleaned. If not, replace it.

Water leak at the front door

It sounds like either some debris has gotten under one of the diaphragms of the water valve, or one of the diaphragms is hanging up. It is best to replace the water valve to avoid a possible flooding situation. I always recommend to my clients that they shut off the taps when they are finished for the day and release the pressure on the hoses by starting the machine on a warm fill for a couple of seconds. This will protect your home from a flood due to a burst hose while you are away.

My front loader leaks water because the door gasket, called a boot I believe, is torn and needs replacing. There is nothing in the manual that gives even a clue as to how to remove this boot or how to...

There should be a spring loaded clamp on the outer panel and a screwed together wire clamp on the tub. You may have a water inlet clamp on this model and possibly a drain clamp at the bottom center. Take your time so you do not tear the new one. If you are really a go getter you can remove the top panel of the machine, the control panel, the door lock, the bottom panel and the entire front of the machine to gain easy access to the tub side of the boot. Remove the outer spring loaded clamp first before attempting to remove the front panel.

The Door-diaphragm got torn on my Samsung washer and leaked so I ordered a new one. Removed the old one. Do I remove the front panel to install new diaphragm?

It sure make it a lot easier ,and you can do a better job if you remove the front panel,.Mainly because where the boot goes over the tub alignment is important, and this way its easy to position the clamp in the right spot and watch it while you are tightening..Good Luck

If you hear of a solution, let everyone know. Our machine did the same thing. From the research I have seen, GE makes **** machines and I will NEVER buy a GE product again.

Water leaks through hot feed into machine and eventually out of door when machine is not in use. it is a slow leak taking several hours to fill up

This most likely means that the hot water fill valve is faulty and not shutting off fully and needs replacing. This is a fairly simple and cheap job which you can do yourself or call in a repair man.
