Question about HP PhotoSmart C4180 All-in-One Color InkJet Photo Printer

Print alignment. Prints to the left side od page

Hp C4180 all in one. I have completed all the suggestions in the troubleshooting guide, including uninstall , restart and reinstall software. the printer stll prints 2 letters off on the left side of the page. Leaves on margin. any suggestions

Need to align ink cartridges


Follow the steps to align newly installed cartridges.

  • When prompted, make sure plain white letter or A4 paper is loaded in the input tray.
  • Press the button next to OK on the control panel display.
  • The product prints an alignment page.
  • Place the alignment page print-side down on the right front corner of the glass.
  • Press the button next to OK on the control panel display.

When the On button stops flashing, the alignment is complete. Remove the page and recycle or discard it.

Method two: Print an alignment page using the computer

  • Double-click the HP Digital Imaging Monitor icon ( ) on the lower right side of the Windows taskbar.
  • The HP Solution Center displays.
  • In the HP Solution Center, click Settings . Then click Printer Toolbox .
  • The printer Toolbox displays.
  • Click the Device Services tab.
  • Click Align the Print Cartridges .
  • When prompted, make sure plain white letter or A4 paper is loaded in the input tray.

HP ink jet 1200..prints only test page after replacing the yellow cartridge.test page only shows black and blue inks are good.need help.


Important thing: HP inkjet printers having self align technology & its aligns automatically after replacing the ink cartridge/s.In the process of align it will prints align page &it will read it on the model.
Suppose if you replaced yellow cartridge, as usually it will print align page, but if one or more cartridges not printing properly align will not completes. Results every time it will prints the align page when its switching on. Align will completes only when all cartridges/print heads are in healthy condition.. Check the alignpage find out which colors are not printing properly, replace it to over come from this issue. Now you decide what to do?..

this is a simple problem, the technology that printer aligns its print head automatically by the reading the align page, if your printer head are not in good health/clogged align print wont come properly result align pending..When printer gets power on its prints align page till align completes. Go to tool box in system all programme, perform clean print head, check the quality of printer outs then ask to printer to align.. if its not completing replace print heads..

You may need to do an alignment of the print cartridges. 1. Open the HP Solution Center 2. Click on Settings 3. In the Print Settings section, click Printer Toolbox 4.Click Align the Print Cartridges 5. Click Print Page An alignment page will be printed. Introduction This document provides steps to align print cartridges using the All-in-One control panel or the computer. The appearance of the product varies by model. Aligning print cartridges Follow one of these methods to align print cartridges. NOTE: If the same print cartridge is removed and reinstalled, the product will not prompt to align the print cartridges. The product remembers the alignment values for that print cartridge, so there is no need to realign the print cartridges. Method one: Print an alignment page using the All-in-One control panel When a new cartridge is installed, the product aligns the cartridge. The cartridges can also be aligned any time after you install the software. Aligning the cartridges helps ensure high quality output. Follow the steps to align newly installed cartridges.

ALIGNING PRINT CARTRIDGES WONT ALIGN AFTER FITING NEW CARTRIDGE IN C4180


Reinstall the print cartridges and follow the instructions for "Print cartridge troubleshooting".

To align newly installed print cartridges
1. Make sure you have letter or A4 unused plain white paper loaded in the input tray.
The HP All-in-One prints a print cartridge alignment sheet.
NOTE: If you have colored paper loaded in the input tray when you align the print cartridges, the alignment will fail. Load unused plain white paper into the input tray, and then try the alignment again.
If the alignment fails again, you might have a defective sensor or print cartridge.
Contact HP Support. Go to www.hp.com/support. ....
2. Load the print cartridge alignment sheet print side down on the left front corner of the glass with the top of the page to the left.
3. Press the Scan button.
The HP All-in-One aligns the print cartridges. Recycle or discard the print cartridge alignment sheet

Printer won't print properly.


Hi,


Please perform the following steps:

  1. Load unused plain white letter or A4 paper into the input tray.
  2. Press the Setup button.
  3. Press the down arrow button to select Tools and then press OK .
  4. Press the down arrow to select Align Print Cartridges and then press OK . An alignment page prints.
  5. After the success or failure message displays, click OK to continue. Recycle or discard the alignment page.
