Question about Whirlpool GD5SHAX Side by Side Refrigerator
The water from the dispenser has a horrible smell. It smells either like some chemical is in it or it is very stagnant/musy. The city came and tested the water supply to the fridge and all other faucets which is fine. We change the filters regularily and had no problems the first 2 years. We had A&E factory service out and they replaced the water reservoir and flushed the system. Thought that worked but alas, a couple months later the smell is back. I'm tired of paying for their trial and error and can't get any suggestions from whirlpool/kitchenaid. The smell goes away when we remove the filter. I don't want to drink unfiltered water and my neighbors with the same refrigerator use filters and their water is fine. I would appreciate any advice.
What kind of supply line is gong to the unit,, if it is plastic change it to copper,, copper doesn't keep the sediments stuck to it, which will make it smell,,
