Question about Televison & Video
TV GO ON AND OFF BY ITSELF AND THE SOUND GOES UP BY ITSELF. I HAVE A HARD TIME TURNING THE TV ON IT TIMES. THE PICTURE IS GREAT WHEN IT IS WORKING. APOX WHAT WOULD THE COST BE TO FIX IT.
I have heard of similar problems, but have not seen it happen first hand.
My first thought is that you should remove the batteries from your remote and see if the problem goes away, if it does then your remote is faulty or has sticky buttons, if not try...
Place a piece of tape (not clear) over the tv's IR sensor, this will block any ir signals that may be coming from another source. If this corrects the problem then you have something in the room that is generating a light source that the ir receiver is mistaking as a valid signal.
I find it hard to believe that the tv's circuitry is at fault, but it can happen. Make sure you have no sources of electromagnetic interference close to the tv, such as any external speakers, or any other electronic equipment. Unplug all other electronic devices that are near the tv and see if the problem goes away.
Hope this helps!
