POWER SUPPLY PROBLEM
WHEN I PUSH THE POWER BUTTON IT DOES NOT POWER UP AND THE FAN COMES ON BUT NOT CONSTANT,IT SEEMS TO STOP AND START DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE.

AfroIce. If your combo recorder's an RC797T or RC897T there's an excellent chance (90%) you can completely restore your unit back to fully-operational condition. Please read my repair-brief entitled Interface error! Turn off the power which explains everything you need to know. The repair doesn't require any special electronics knowledge, takes under 20 minutes and costs only a few dollars for the 3 replacement capacitors readily available from your local Radio Shack. Considering your unit's virtually dead you have nothing to loose and everything to gain. Give it your best shot! mikeadams110@yahoo.com
