Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7 Digital Camera

Just started happening a few days ago - press the shoot button and nothing happens. SOMETIMES, if I shut off camera and/remove batteries, I can take pictures, though nothing can happen again at any time (after taking up to 3 photos relatively quickly). Any insight?

If the camera had been in a wet place (rain etc.) can be water damage.
Check also battery contact for oxide or fluid.
If you have one, test a different battery.
Check that lens and shutter are not jamming up because of dirt or bent parts.
Check that there is no stuck or broken button.
If none of the a above, get it to a repair shop.

Ensure you are using at least alkaline batteries (duracell etc), if you use zinc carbon battery that is normal.

HI,

i suggest you to once try switching over to 2500 mAh Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable batteries. you will see a difference.Digital cameras with zoom lens need more power than what can be supplied by ordinary batteries..

If you need anymore help let me know.

Please don't forget to rate or accept the solution..

Do you have warranty on this camera?

If not you can get a free repair estimate from
http://www.advancecamera.com/repair/

I suspect it is a hardware issue.

I have a Panasonic DMC-lz7 te works ok, the only problem is the button to take the pictures does not work. i press it and nothing happens it seems as if someone dropped it what can i do?? thanks :)

If the button moves up and down but nothing happens, then there's nothing you can do yourself. It will need service. If it's stuck in the down position, you might try attaching some tape to it and pulling up.

My DMC-LZ7 started having the same "please replace batteries" error a few weeks ago (bought in 2007). It only seems to happen with my NiMH rechargables, though they test as full-strength with a cheap battery tester. Alkalines don't cause the error and I haven't tried Oxyride (ZR6) batteries yet.
The camera has two battery-type settings (Alkaline/NiMH

Over exposure photos

Try change the exposure of the camera: start the camera, set the dial to 'I' (automatic iso), then press the 'up' menu near the display until 'exposure' settings appear. move the slider to the left/right, according to your preference.
I reccomend using the automatic iso for taking pictures, it automatically adjust exposure.
