Measure the standby voltage with the power supply connected to the AC line.

You should get 5 and 12 volts even if the TV is not powering up.

Actually, you may be in luck. A burned cap means that it has done exactly what it's supposed to do. So...you might stick an identical one in there -- it's a 0.1 uF cap, and you can find these at Radio Shack (0.1 uF 50V) or online. They are cheap, so give it a shot.

Will not turn on

Check the power plug for power. If this is OK then you likely have a blown TV power board, and the primary components are affected. The caps in the primary circuit can be replaced if they are blown, but otherwise you may need a new board.

My PC doesn't power on i changed PS but nothing happened Plz help

It seems the problem lies in the SMPS. Before replacing yr SMPS, try to chck the power supply socket with a tester. If the power supply is ok, then the problem is with yr SMPS, pls replace it.

Polaroid FLM373b No power.

When the filter capacitors went out , the power supply will feed AC instead of DC into the circuit board and may have damaged other circuits. Do you get the 5vdc standby voltage? it should be on one of the power supply out put connector the minute the you plug in the TV, you must have this before go further.

Dead no power

The 3300ufd cap is on the secondary side of the power supply. You need to check the primary side. I think that these use switch mode supplies, which means that there should be a 22ufd cap r similar value on the primary side to kick start the oscillations on the primary side.

Keep me posted on what you find.

Sanyo ST-21G1 dead set

There should be a small valued cap in the primary side (22ufd?) at 250V. Check that. Also, look for other small caps int he range of 2.2ufd with 200V ratings in the same general area.

Power but no picture

This unit stumped me.. The reason being is that the power supply normally has 2 parts, a primary control line and then the main power supply. The purpose of the primary control line is to talk to the main control board, make sure there are no errors upon power up and then startup the set with high voltage. The problem is that the primary control portion is not working.. With that being said, it has no way to control the set for startup and initalize the processor for the video/menu. What is supposed to happen is when this is dead, the set should do nothing and the relays should be tripped going into protection fault mode. A very backwords design for failure on this unit. Anyways, replace caps c502, c503 and c521 on the main power supply unit. Replace the existing 50v .47 uf with a 1uf @ 50v to prevent the failure again. The other 2 are 47yu at 35v, I would jump the volts to 50 on that again to make sure it dosent happen. Becareful of the ps removal, the 15+ fets are screwed to the chasis and locked down do to heat, do not remove the protective coating or risk ps failure. Enjoy your tv.
