Question about E-Machines eMachines Monitor E15T4

1 Answer

Monitor The picture on our monitor will somethimes get distorted so that the edges of the picture is off the screen. When we turn the computer off 2 or 3 times it will eventually right itself. It sometimes happens while we are working online too. I have tried to adjust the picture using the menu but it hasn't worked yet. Any ideas?

Adjust the pixels. Right click on desktop, properties, appearences, advanced and there should be a slide bar to adjust your pixels. Make them larger, ex. 1440X900 instead of 680X400

mcdevito75 here, Your Monitor could be bad, (blown out) a monitor is just like a lite bulb. start your computer verify fan is on, verify monitor is on with on off switch on monitor, press shift key on keyboard maybe your computer is on stand by or hybirnation, also click the mouse at the screen left click and right click to bring picture to screen, if picture on monitor ok, if not press AUTO on the monitor, this brings back factory settings to your monitor. If all this fails, bring your monitor to a Radio Shack, Staples etc. for testing.

Whole screen pink and edges distorted green its on my dell insiron 6400 laptop

check the connctions on your monitor. I had this problem on my monitor for 2 months and it started shortly after I cleaned my desk so I thought maybe I had accidentally pressed a button. I found out later that a wobbly connection to the monitor gave faulty connection info to the screen so I just touched it today and it went magically white. Please try it before attempting anything else!

Your screen's ratio is oriented to playing wide screen formatted movies. Set your screen resolution to a ratio that's more or less 2 to 1 and you'll have a more realistic depiction of people on photos.

Distorted shrunken picture

hi

reduce the resolution to a bit lower and the refresh rate to a nominal 60hz and things should get back to normal

my hunch is u r using a slightly high resolution and refresh rates

but before that try the buttons on the monitor to see if expanding the image sideways or top and bottom would help initially

cheers
pls rate if this was any help

Screen image display distortion

Hello.
What you are reporting is a problem in the pincushion circuit in the horizontal section of your CRT monitor. Usually this is from an electrolytic capacitor that is no longer willing to play nice with all the other components.
It is repairable, but get an estimate first. If the repair bill appears to be around $100, you would be better off to put a few more dollars with that and buy an LCD TFT monitor.
If you are quoted $25 or $30, it is probably worth having repaired. Just keep in mind that these older CRT monitors have age on their components, and once repaired, it will still be an old monitor.
Only you can decide which choice is right for you. At least now you have a few facts to help make the decision.
I hope this helps.

Screen Distortion at certain Refresh Rates

Have you connected the laptop to another monitor and use the same refresh rates that cause the distortion? If the distortion appears on a different monitor, then I would have your laptop examined by a pc engineer, but, if the distortion only appears on the 997DF monitor, I suggest having the monitor checked at a repair shop, also, have you tried connecting the 997DF to a desktop PC, and use the same refresh rates?
