Question about HP Pavilion ze2000 Notebook
My Hp notebook keepswitching from AC to battery. I have had the pin fixed where the cord plugs into the laptop and now it is doing it again. I have to hold the cord to get it to AC and getting it to charge the battery. anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Also the cord get hot when chargeing the battery.
I am a PC Tech, and I have fixed this problem. I received a ze2308WM laptop, the end of the power adapter was melted and the DC Jack in the laptop was loose. I replaced the DC Jack, SOLDERING it back on to the board (spend 5 minutes, learn how to spell) and replaced the AC Adapter. Everything now works perfectly. This service at a local shop is very expensive, online I see it for around $100, plus shipping. That doesn't include a new AC Adapter (buy genuine HP) I charge about $125 for repair and that includes a new genuine HP AC Adapter. Do be very careful if using this laptop while it is broken... Not recommended.

The soldier holding the DC jack on the machine has broken loose. If you can, you should take it back to the place you had fix the jack and have them resoldier it. These are very small connection points, and if they don't get the soldier in there good, will break loose. It's a common occurrence, I've had it happen to a few of my soldier jobs, they should take care of it. Be careful with the way it is now, you can do severe damage if the connection point gaps and creates an electrical arch. I would suggest not using it until you get it fixed.
