You can try cleaning first the cartridges of your printer using the printer utility installed on your computer and if you want you can also remove the cartridges and clean the inside part of your printer..

Good luck..............

It is a problem with the mechanic.

It looks like there are several problems with your printer mechanics.
The printer does not pick the paper automatically because of a problem with the traction wheels or paper sensor.
If it prints only on the central part of the page this is because either the page sheet is folded, or the print head is faulty, or the print head rail is bent.
If it does not print first half of the page, instead, check cartridges and print heads.
To fix it it will require a thorough inspection, this involve taking the printer apart and reassembling after inspecting the mechanics.

HP deskjet F380 - 'status: paper jam'. There is no paper jam!

Unplug the power cord and while doing that make sure printer is powered on i mean do not turn off the printer using the power button. When you unplug the power cord than press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Than release the power button and connect the power cord and then try to print.

HP 950C - no red!

I use a clear silicone tube to carefully prime the carts by sucking a dab of ink out of the tiny print holes before installation. I am careful to have a tight seal at the holes to prevent getting too much ink and possibly getting it in my mouth.

Most likely your encoder has become fogged due to aerosol in the printer. You can carefully clean this following the instructions here. Be sure to heed the warnings, the encoder is fragile and can be easily damaged.

Once you have cleaned the encoder force an alignment calibration, either from the toolbox of alternately turn on the printer, then press and hold the power button, then quickly press the formfeed buttion three times, then release the power button. If the alignment fails you may need to lean the bottom of the alignment sensor, it is located in a small black package just on the lower right side of the carriage. Open the lid, allow the carriage to move to the center then clean the sensor from below with a damp q-tip.
